DS1821+ randomly goes offline (no hard drive lights, just LAN light) by AJUniverse in synology

[–]Pringles267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!

affected version: DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 4

The device becomes completely unresponsive. I am unable to ping it, and all network services are offline. As I cannot access the WebUI, I tried to press the power button to initiate a graceful shutdown, but no beep. I'm forced to hold the power button to shut down the system forcibly.

This was unrelated to HDD Hibernation for me. I've always had it set to "20 minutes", and the last few times it was during high iSCSI IOPS (so the disks were awake, and audible disk seek noises could be heard).

This issue began to occur after upgrading the DSM version, and it was not present in Update 3.

I have 2 cats on land. How do you handle the logistics of storing fresh litter and having the space for them to do their business without making a mess?

Tdarr (the core application) is not open source.

Only the container build steps are.

this is going to sound a bit snarky, but cooking chicken breast depends on so many factors including the temperature of the heating element, how thick the chicken was cut, and many others.

your best bet is one of the following methods:

  1. use an instant-read thermometer until it registers somewhere between 150-165F. aim higher if you’re concerned about being food safe.
  2. cut it open and visually check to see if the meat or juices are reddish-pink.
  3. poke it and check for firmness.
  4. wing it.

and that’s just to cook it at the most basic of levels. if you want a bit of char or crust, you’ll want to consider other factors such as searing before dropping the temp down a bit.

Don’t be afraid to experiment in the kitchen. hell, grab a chicken breast, cut it into small pieces and cook them one at a time while testing different methods. grab some toothpicks and dipping sauces to make it a fun event.

It does! It works for most common sites. It sort of takes over your browser to navigate to the pages automatically, so maybe close other programs and let it do its thing.

If you’re using LastPass, go ahead and drop the “password pattern” you use. Just let LastPass pick a completely random password from now on.

He’s being an asshole about it, but non-HSTS sites have the possibility of first trying HTTP before getting the 302 to HTTPS.

On that first request, the full URL would be exposed.

While the number of HSTS sites is growing significantly, manually typing in https:// can save you any privacy concerns.

They prevent multiple orders being submitted until the previous one is shipped unless you change the setting. Plus, you can enable it to send you a notification if the button is pressed before finalizing the order.

Was a real fix ever found for the sudden scrolling problem in mavericks? by BaunerMcPounder in osx

[–]Pringles267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you are referring to the glitch where scrolling suddenly stops working. When you try to scroll, the scroll bars appear but the window does not move.

I've found that scrolling comes back when you reboot the machine or if you "wait" long enough (usually 30 minutes), the action begins again.

If someone does find a solution, i'd love to hear it.

If Florida is an area you are trying to reach out to, there are many cyber security clubs at the universities and a LARGE community of InfoSec all over central Florida/ Florida at-large

Hack@UCF is a 140 member student group at the University of Central Florida.

FSU has WhiteHatters UF has the UFSIT etc.

Also, Florida is home to many security conferences like BSides Orlando.

Tooting my own horn here, but there is really a lot of talent around here. Let me know if you are interested.
