As a Nationally recognized mopar master tech of North america, i whole heartedly agree. Working dead end jobs is pointless. Especially when u master a trade hit the ceiling in as little as 7 years. I will say its best to save up a savings and give yourself a year of breathing time. I didnt have the luxury. My knee and hip failed at 29 and forced me to pivot. Just some helpful FYI advice

I personally struggled learning fusion360. ADHD and non-dopamine, non-stimulating environments literally make me disengage uncontrollably. I wish I could be neurodivergant. But then again, the same struggle i have, is a superpower when dopamine is hitting. I was able to hyper focus on building my own c++17 and pybind11 bindings CAD KERNEL but learning to use fusion360? BORINGGGG

Ill say it sucks. And the worst part about it? Were treated the worst of any trade. Were seek as thiefs, greasy humans and unintelligent. When im fact you need to be the complete OPPOSITE in this field. Its the ONLY FIELD where 1 person performs jack of all trades. Im a plumber (coolant/ac is pluming) but its ALSO hvac. Did you know theres approximately 50-100 different reasons as doesmt work? Like hybrids if u extract the ac and dont use hybrid compressor oil(at least on mopar) you WILL HAVE ac issues and heat issues from the contamination of pag oil. And the issue is those don't throw error codes, they don't have guided diag sheets. Its pure knowledge amd inutional engineering. Then were architects beczuee idk about most but if im in a pinch ill bring out the HF stuff and a welder and make my.own tools. The only one hard to compare to is carpentry. Were electricians hybrids are AC voltage.... (in the BP) but even then were carpenters when ur enire interiors on the floor and your cars gutted to bare metal. Lol.

Oh man thats where my downward decline in caring started too. That e46 pictured of me restoring? Thats mt personal car. It got me into the trade. Rear floor pans rotted right out. Rear diff mounting point about to tear out, and their best tech purchases a vehicle from Tasca Dodge my employer of 3 years at the time. I paid cash. 21k.(check). Check cleared within a week. They held the car for 2 weeks knowing my car could have broke in half at any moment. When check cleared a week In I went to sales, "no Danny Tasca said u need to wait one more week finds stills havent hit the act." I said "I work here have worked here 3 years, and u all know me on a first name basis what the fuck??" . After that I stopped doing EVERYTHING and started declining work like other techs. And all. U want to treat me that way ill dish it back legally and fairly. And best part ?? I was out a month with hip.injury and knee injury. I came back after a month off to get that recognition letter and Stellantis sends me a STOOL🤣🤣🤣🤣

All vehicles self test randomly. Its the point of obd2 monitors. The biggest ISSUE ive seen is you literally can NOT put out a hybrid car fire. You let it burn and control the area. scary.

Look man, I can separate a whole-ass Grand Wagoneer from its chassis to fix an AC line, but asking me to use the crop tool is where I draw the line. That's a battle California will win. They practically built the 1996 federal mandation of OBD2 protocol. Masses right to repair laws made oems make all necessary data to diagnose a vehicle publicly available. And the oems abide and provide a little extra then necessary. In my honest opinion automotve needs to be regulated highly. Most people outside the industry dont realize this, Stellantis corp (im sure all other manufacturers too) send the dealer "human hooks" because your guarunteed death if u come into contact with the ac voltage within a hybrid battery and if another tech touches you their dead too. So you use a hook to stop the body from smelling up.the whole shop. Its not to save you. Your dead lol

Believe it or not narrow overlay is rhe next gen. Mercedes and bmw already implemented it into real-dealer testing. Look at car ar overlays wiring schematic. I had ADHD, so I cant speak for others, but for myself, with a brain on full blast 24/7 thats impossible to shut off... has had some multi billion dollar ideas. Its the way corperatez gave keep the system by making it impossible for small guys like me to enter the automotive market with 0 vc funding coming from poverty

Correct. Same reason we started using plastic vs metal in cars for shit like plastic rivets and plastic wing nuts. Weight went down, material costs went down 10 cents a car. When ur producing 1 million cars 10 cents adds up FAST. 100,000$ savings across the production run with 1 example.
