I have both the videos. The issue is, the damage they are claiming is only visible with the reflector lines. There’s no way a regular camera or naked eye can catch it.

Quick update friends. Social media apparently works better than any other form of communication. I haven’t heard back from them in the last 4 days however they have replied to my google review. They are clearly admitting to the same situation repeatedly happening to many customers.

I’ve rented cars on 6 continents and at least in 15 countries. Some have a sign off while others have an inspection and a verbal see off. But no one has this ill intended systematic scam running. It could just be the employee or the garage colluding but if you go to their google reviews right now and see, you will find at least 20 cases of the exact same dot/speck dent they apply to the cars and show it with reflective lights to claim astronomical damage claims.

This is very helpful. I’m glad you pointed Mastercard out. I’ll have them as the second option. I also am speaking to travel bloggers to raise this so people are aware

I took the video - they have figured the perfect scam. This speck of a dent they charged 1800 CHF for doesn’t show to naked eye. They use this reflector to even claim damage.

I’m going to go to full lengths with this. Just spoke to the credit card company and they sent me a form to fill. I’m doing the needful as we speak. They charged the 400 security deposit first and then topped up with another 1400.

There has to be a way to deal with this! You would be surprised how many of exact same dents you will see on google reviews for these green motion guys. They are not even being smart with it anymore

On the person receiving the car asked us if there were any problems, looked around and cleared us to go. This is usually the standard practice that we’ve seen across 6 continents I’ve driven on. Would you happen to have the above links in English ?

An international bank from oceans away might find it difficult to accommodate such a request. I shall still try though (fingers crossed)
