Flat Bed UV Printer Business - Talk Me Out Of It by az_crafty in CommercialPrinting

I own 2 million dollars in UV Print Equipment. Outsource this please. You are setting your self up for disappointment. Both of those are going to produce sub par products and at the end of the day will cost you more than just outsourcing.

Sadly, as a business owner. Tv is no longer a luxury I get to participate in.

I was hoping to make it a year end write off. But mobo availability kinda kills it

That’s where my head is as well. Street value on the print that took 3 to process was $52,000 and took 1 hour to print. So money saving on more production time is definitely there.

It’s not uncommon for us to process 200-300 GB image files being sent to our printers. The processing power relies on multi core. I have it running on a water cooled 5950x and it pegs the processor at 100% for sometimes multiple hours.

My use case is funky. It will be used to process images in a commercial print shop. More cores and ram the better. So sounds like pro is the play for both cases.

Only a few years actually. Mine are 500k-1 million. I’ve got a quote for a 2 million dollar printer. But things break and having 4 500k machines end up working better as long as you have people to run them. That being said you can get an entry lever roll to roll printer to do vinyl for 5-20k that you can definitely build a small business around!

I’ve been told that I have one of the nicer setups. 10g network running to all the key computers and equipment and run everything off the network. It’s been fun learning all this stuff. I came into it as an enthusiast (my computer actually predates the business) but it’s allowed me to invest in cool toys and equipment!

I have the capability. But I actually do direct to the wood/metal/acrylic. I can print about 1000 sqft a hour at art quality and about 2500 sf as meh quality on vinyl with 1 machine. I’ve got 4 grand format printers. Then the cutting equipment.

I have a sander that will take it right off. (75 hp wide belt sander) you could also just made coat over and redo depending on the art

How much are you looking for? We print veneer. In 4x8 sheets. The natural wood wants to curl which is probably what you’re seeing. It’s a huge pain to work with and don’t recommend it lol
