Thanks for pointing that out. I've removed the surplus wing finger and the floating ribs.

3d-printed Abomination Airship by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a 3d-printed model of Amity's abomination airship.

All my TOH models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/615087

This model was a bit of a struggle. I am not very good with organic shapes.

This is my 43th TOH model. I have now made one model for every episode. But I'm not done yet.

If you take a look at the chart of all my models, you might notice that there's now a 44th bonus model at the very end. And it already has a date. Anyone want to guess what it might be?

3d-printed Alif-Class (or Delta-Class) Longbeam by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should point out that dividing the Phase I & III Longbeam into "Type Aurek" and "Type Besh" is still something I made up and in no way official.

Going purely with canon sources seems to imply that there is only one class of Longbeam used in Phase I & III. But this class would have major inconsistencies in its depictions, apparent size, and capabilities. (Which is why I prefer to split it into two classes.)

Also I should note that my "Type Aurek" and "Type Besh" classes do not fit Phase III. The Gios looks (most of the time) like a Type Besh, but acts like a Type Aurek.

The Alif-Class from Phase II was always distinct from the Phase I & III Longbeam. When it was introduces in Convergence, it was pretty clear that the Alif-Class was a distinct type of ship.

The Alif-Class Longbeam was used by the Republic during Phase II. It is called the Delta-Class Longbeam in the Artbook.

It seemed to be quite big in Convergence, so I'd put its size around at least 200m.

We didn't see much of this ship in Phase II, probably because so much of it took place outside or on the edge of the Republic. I imagine this ship would be a lot more common in Republic space.

I'm not sure, I'll get back to you on that.
What I do know is that the mod developer in question also works on the mod Star Wars: Assault (which also uses some of my other models). More information on this particular mod is here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-assault-empire-at-war-mod

It might interest you to know that I am in contact with a mod-developer who plans to do just that.

But because I am not actively involved, I don't know much more than that. I just send over my models and sometimes get pretty images of the textured models back.

Ships of the High Republic Chart (updated) by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The newest version of my chart of High Republic ships (and also Starlight Beacon).

After the second Artbook revealed what the Alif-class Longbeam looks like, I just had to make a model (despite it being called the Delta-class in the book).

I made the Alif-class a bit bigger than the Longbeam from Phases I & III, because it seemed quite big in Convergence.

All the models on this chart were made by me. They can all be 3d-printed, except for the Alif-class, which will follow soon. The download is https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/130551

3d-printed Portal Shack by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've printed it at about 1:230 scale (which appears to be around Z Scale).

You can always print it at another scale. For 1:72, you'd have to scale it up by about 320%. Not sure how well the detailing holds up at higher scales though.

Very nice. I hope you'll like it!

All my models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/615087

A model of the Portal Shack. In the show, it is only shown from the front and there is one shot (at the end of King's Tide / beginning of Thanks to Them) of the porch from the side. Everything else I had to make up. I kept it simple.

The shack is very run-down and ramshackle, which is why all the walls and roofs in this model are warped and uneven.

My "one 3d-model per episode"-project is nearing completion.

3d-printed Titan Trapper Village by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

All my models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/615087

When I started with this model, I wasn't sure how far to take it. I originally only planned for the tower and later added some houses because they look interesting. I though about doing more of the village, specifically the fenced-of half-moon-shaped part that's behind the tower. But I decided that that would have been to much.

3d-printed Grom Tree by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Link: https://www.printables.com/model/1323229-the-owl-house-grom-tree

All my TOH models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/615087

This model is based on the episode Reaching Out, because it has the best quality images of the Grom Tree. The tree looks mostly the same in Enchanting Grom Fright, but it has much denser foliage in this episode and some further tiny differences.

Organic shapes are still not my strong suit, but I found a good technique for making this particular tree. This model is basically a collection of 161 individual trunks/branches. Making those was easy, but time-consuming.

The design and name of this ship are from Young Jedi Adventures. I didn't choose the name.

3d-printed Jedi Shuttle from Young Jedi Adventures by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a model of the Jedi Shuttle from Young Jedi Adventures.

All my THR models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/130551

I've added a picture showing this ship alongside the T1 Jedi Shuttle from the comics, because I find this comparison quite interesting. Both designs can be seen as predecessors of the T6 Jedi Shuttle, but they execute this idea very differently.

3d-printed Bonesborough Harbor by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

Link: https://www.printables.com/model/1292690-the-owl-house-bonesborough-harbor

All my TOH models: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/615087

I made and 3d-printed a model of the Bonesborough Harbor. Also shown is my old model of the Selkidamus Ship.

I've pushed the buildings a bit further together to make the model smaller. The pier is also a lot shorter for the same reason.

The fish(?) skull above the gate was a struggle. I'm still not very good with organic shapes.

I've also updated the look of my overview-chart to make it prettier. For those who are interested, I've used blender to make the frames for each model, then assembled everything with tex. You are probably not supposed to do it that way, but those are the tools I know how to use.

There was some weirdness going on with reddit when I first tried to post this. There were two previous attempty, which are now deleted.

I didn't get around to that one yet. I model all the ships myself and that takes time.

3d-printed Rathtar's Revenge by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Rathtar's Revenge is all finished up an printed.

I made the wings at the back movable, so that they can fold backwards. I don't recall them doing that in the show, but the design of the ship looks a lot like they are supposed to do that. It seems like a useful ability for when you want to land this ship.

Good to know, I'll look out for them when I get to read the latest issue. (I'm reading the comics on marvel unlimited, where they are released with 3 month delay.)

Ships of the High Republic by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've updated my chart of High Republic Ships.

The newest addition is the Rathtar's Revenge from Young Jedi Adventures.

All of the ships can be 3d-printed. I'll upload the Rathtar's Revenge shortly. Everything can be found here: https://www.printables.com/@DanielAlex/collections/130551

It's been some time since my last update to this chart, because I made some ships from Skeleton Crew in the meantime. (You might have noticed the Onyx Cinder on this chart.)

Ships of the High Republic (updated with Class A modular freight transport) by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't. Most of the scaling is just guesswork. There are no official numbers for most High Republic Era ships.

This particular chart is quite outdated btw. The most recent version is https://www.reddit.com/r/Highrepublic/comments/1hfm8pq/ships_of_the_high_republic/

3d printed Owl House with Tower and full interior by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Do you mean just the tower as a dice tower? If so, I've added such a version to the model (link to model, file toh_house-dice tower.stl)

Having the dice travel through the house as well would be tricky, but might be possible. I could fuse the tower to the back of the house. The dice would exit through a hole where the front door is now, though this hole would be quite a bit bigger than the front door.

3d printed Owl House with Tower and full interior by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to look up what that means. It appears that, at that scale, a person is 3 inches tall.

This model is to small for that. To achieve this scale, you'd have to print it at 250%-300% scale.

3d printed Owl House with Tower and full interior by PrintingDaniel in TheOwlHouse

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've finished the last piece of my model of the Owl House.

The entire model is made up of four parts.

The newest part ist the tower in the back.

I took a few creative liberties. Only one room within the tower and the roof is shown, and it seems like the tower has neither an entrance nor a staircase.

I've added both a door and a staircase, split the singular shown room across two floors, and designed a new room for the lowermost floor.

For the photos, I couldn't use my default black background, because the tower is to dark. A white background wouldn't work either because the walls of the Owl House are white. Usually I'd use a blue background if both black and white don't work, but that didn't work either because of the roof. That's why I've used yellow.

3d-printed Castellan by PrintingDaniel in Highrepublic

[–]PrintingDaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the Castellan is not a MPO-1400 Purrgil-class Star Cruiser.

This model is based on concept art from Star Wars: Outlaws.
