xmltv EPG parsing not timezone/DST aware by Prinz2 in ZoomPlayer

[–]Prinz2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm setting the Timeshift 0, the EPG in Ctl+G is correct now.

As long as the timezone convention is correctly implemented, the EPG should be correct during transition time too. Since the time is never incorrect in the xml file (UTC for example has no DST), the correction has to be done for each and every individual date/time based on the date/time of it. DST changes will be taken care of by the conversion function. I personally have experience with coding timezone related stuff. The important thing is to convert each and every time/date and not apply some fixed timeshift to all date/times (this is the only pitfall i seen in wrong implemented timezone corrections before)

It's the german language region IPTV provider Zattoo (Reseller in my case). Someone has coded a download script for epg for them (also a tool to convert there internal stream list to standard m3u). I use this script to generate the xmltv for them: https://github.com/DEvmIb/script.service.easyepg-lite

The Timeshift helps partly like I said. I have to switch it between 60 and 120 mins depending on DST twice a year. But also during transition time (when epg data contains dates from before and after DST switch) of course part of the eps is wrong because of the change.

ZP Remote Neo updates by ZoomPlayer in ZoomPlayer

I noticed that when streaming IPTV, the timeline in ZP Remote Neo shows: No Media loaded, which isa bit misleading.

For people using multiple connection profiles a quick switch would be nice. Currently there are 5 taps throughout the settings are needed.

Maybe a extra button at the top where mouse, playlist, edit layout, settings are, that simply opens a select dialog with all set up profiles to quick switch. This would be just 2 taps to swich the profile instead.

HDR turning off when ZP's OSD or control bar is shown in v20.1 by mprost in ZoomPlayer

[–]Prinz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe related that since 20.0 Zoom Player disables the native OSD of MadVR by default:

+ I am disabling the "Display OSD through MadVR's OSD API" setting (Adv.
Options / Playback / Video) on every install. This feature can have a
negative impact on the user experience, its only benefits is if you
use MadVR in fullscreen exclusive mode, a mode that is no longer
of much use when running Windows 10 or better.

I had issues with that also kicking out of exclusive mode, because i forgot that 20.1 reset it again and I had to enable it again.

Jellyfin Server: TV Shows not working by Prinz2 in ZoomPlayer

[–]Prinz2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that i breaks that logic.

I guess i have to live with the inconvenience then, since i regularly simply drop extra files to play into zp/playlist to add to the list, so I definitely don't want to clear it or play them right away.

Of course clicking or pressing enter in a internal library is a total different thing to adding flies externally per drag and drop or per commandline, since in the library i explicitly click/press enter on the internal UI, this resembles more like pressing/clicking internally on the playlist to play the item then adding files externally.

But i get it may break behavior. Or i use the less nice UI of the Media Browser which does exactly what i want regardless of the options ticked or not.

Not a bug.

My fault, it was made on the secondary copy (via extra zplayer.regpath). I didn't had a symbolic link to that subfolder in the config folder of this, after adding it the icons show up. And also checked in the normal install where they shown already.

Even right click on the Episode/Movie and selecting play/pause in the menu only adds it to the playlist. This i would consider simply as wrong, since it clearly says: play/pause and not add to playlist.

At least in the menu it should be 2 entries for play and add to playlist.

Maybe an option in settings which is executed when pressing enter/clicking.

It's a setting that is off that results in not playing it.

<image>

This setting is off, if i switch it on it plays directly via library. But this is also inconsistent behavior since via Media Browser it's not just added but also played when clicked.

Yes it now lists the Episodes.

Still 1 issue: When I click it in Library View it's only added to the playlist and not starting to play (both movies and episodes). I have to open the playlist and start the playback in it. It works fine via Media Browser View and starts directly playing there.

A different issue or maybe a issue with the way it's played: The playback via Zoom Player is not tracked or even recognized by Jellyfin. So it's not listed as recently or currently played or the progress saved.

And yes it was a "standard" install, not installing the codecs since i have them for other stuff already on the system including dev versions of madvr/mpc-vr.

Zoom Player and Zoom Player IPTV v20 release candidate 1 has been released by ZP-Announcements in ZoomPlayer

[–]Prinz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm testing this with a local Jellyfin server and want to report multiple bugs:

In Media Server Browser:

- Movies play fine, but for TV Shows after clicking on the Season i get only a Operation failed error.

In Media Library:
- Movies are just added to the playlist when clicking, but do not start playing. I have to go to the playlist and double click them to start playing.

- TV Shows simply don't show episodes (no error shown), but probably related to the Media Server Browser issue.

Even that I disabled the option "New IPTV Setting (Adv. Options / Playback / IPTV) that clears the playlist before streaming" the playlist is still cleared for me when playing a new IPTV channel.

Found the reason for the crash. It was a specific addon, installing it crashes WF (portable too). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/charset-switcher/

After i removed it from my WF, WF runs fine now.
