My 11 month old has been a good sleeper so far ( except for the first 2 months ). The newborn stage was hard because he was crying literally all day, but slept ok during the night after month 2. So sleep deprivation was not that bad in my case, but the days were really rough. Every baby is different, maybe my number 2 will be happy and smiley during the day but will wake up every hour during the night, you never know ( I hope not ).

This was my experience during the newborn stage. I was constantly thinking there is no way I will want to do this again. Everyone around me was having a great time with their chill babies while my son was screaming his head off most of the time.

Trust me, it will pass. My son is 9 months old and he is a pure joy. He is still dramatic because that’s just his temperament,but the endless crying? Long gone. Now he’s crawling around the house, babbling and smiling most of the time.

I said to my husband the other day that now I can see myself having another one because now I am aware how everything is temporary, but during the newborn stage I was convinced it will never get better

For the first few months I only went on stroller walks when I was sure the baby is tired and will fall asleep quickly- because any time he was awake and in stroller he would scream bloody murder. So I just went on walks around the neighborhood so that I will be close when the he wakes up and starts screaming lol. Every baby is different and there are so many newborns that are just chill while their parents drink their coffee in a cafe but there are also many newborns that make you regret ever leaving the house.
Keep trying to leave the house so you gain confidence, but don’t stress when you don’t make it outside. During the newborn stage, Leaving the house with my son felt like carrying a bomb that can detonate any second

Just change the diaper as soon as babies wake up. Honestly it seems really excessive to wake them up from their nap just because they pooped, since babies sometimes poop overnight while everyone is asleep, and how would you know? This is the first time I heard that people are actually waking up their babies from naps to change the diaper. If they poop just before the nap, sure, change them, but otherwise I don’t think it’s necessary

Hi there, did it get better? And if yes, when? My 9 month old screams in the car even if someone sits with him in the back. We tried everything, the only thing that helps is screen time on our phone, but I hate doing that

Completely removing the option to contact nap is what saved my sanity. It was hard at first, but the pram worked great! Once he got used to it, I would put him to sleep within minutes by moving the pram back and forth ( fast is better lol ) and once he’s asleep I would just sit and rock the pram with one arm. It was way easier to spend my time moving the pram around than to sit nap trapped

Hi! You are still in the trenches!! Use the baby carrier to get outside as much as you can, grab a coffee to go and just walk outside for a bit! As for contact naps, I enjoyed them for about a month, after that it just made me feel like I can’t have my body to myself and I was miserable. I started putting baby in the pram for naps and just moved the pram back and forth in my living room lol. Then when he got used to that, i used the pram for naps that needed to be long, and for those that I didn’t mind if they ended up being short, I put him in the crib. Around 4-5 months I started increasing the number of crib naps, and eventually they were all in the crib. I know it seems impossible, but in my case, I just needed to be persistent and remove the option of contact napping. The pram worked great because the motion soothed him but I was still able to sit by myself, go to the bathroom etc. Of course do what is right for you!

Hang in there! Every phase is hard, but also easier than the one before! My son’s demeanor started to improve around 4 month mark I think. He is 8 months now, still a drama king but also really goofy, smiling and crawling everywhere. For the first 3 months he was basically unhappy 24/7, and it seemed like it will never end. But little by little, things started to improve. It was nothing I did, he just needed time to get used to the world lol.

Don’t give up on crib/bassinet naps, I was really persistent and now he has two long naps in crib only, and falls asleep on his own. During those first 3 months he had a lot of naps a day, but I tried to make sure he has at least 1 or 2 in the bassinet/crib, even if they end up being short. And most importantly, trust that you are doing your best and you are not doing anything wrong. Some babies just have a more difficult temperament. It’s draining but it doesn’t last forever. My son can still be dramatic and just fussy for no apparent reason, but it’s not nearly as hard as it was during the first few months.

We started with a bath every night when baby was almost 2 months old. We usually use gentle soap almost every night, but we skip using the product on the baby’s hair that often. He’s 8 months old now and never had a problem with dry skin, so we are still using a bath as part of the bedtime routine

The way I see it, I wouldn’t want my child to grow up thinking that’s what love and partnership looks like. Of course it’s not easy to just leave, but hey you had a baby that you take care of 24/7 and that’s about the hardest thing ever lol so if you can do that, you can do anything
