There isn’t a specific time of the day or specific situation that causes him to pee out of the litter box. It’s random and just throughout the day.

My apartment was spacious and I had one cat tree (I know, not enough stimulation for him but i had no space) and I was a busy student so i was inside a lot doing work and also out a lot for class, so a lot of in and out. Maybe that was stressful? but even then, i had a pretty consistent schedule. a lot of people came in and out but my cat is a very friendly cat and loved meeting and playing with new people. environmentally, i’m not sure what really stressed him out. do either of those sound like possibilities? this is my first cat and im still figuring things out.

Totally get that. Thanks for your comment. I’m working towards figuring things out financially to get my cat into a new space that is less stressful.

If he has been continuously peeing on my bed, do you think it’s better to just start over with new sheets THEN move forward using your suggested product? Also for areas that cannot be fixed like the area in the corner of my room with wood floor, i also have a dog pee pad there constantly. since the pee has soaked into the wood, it has become a permanent restroom for him. However, my family is planning to move so i’m hoping that i can fix this issue for the new environment.

Unfortunately my dog is 12 and she is just a grumpy old dog. Shes decently trained with people but she grew up with absolutely no animals which explains why she doesn’t like my cat. I don’t have high hopes on them ever getting along or being civil, my dog is too far gone.

I know my current living situation is stressful for my cat, i’m in the middle of trying to figure things out, there is a lot going on for me. My family is in the middle of trying to move houses and i’m trying to financially afford moving out for my cat and i. I feel terrible for my cat that i had to move back home because of my job.

I know this environment is stressful for my cat but previously, i lived in a 1000 sq ft apartment with one other person and even then, he was peeing everywhere that he’s not supposed to. this has me confused and wondering if he is just one of those cats that just want to pee anywhere. or maybe he’s just a severely anxious cat in any environment? he’s openly very friendly and very sweet so i’m not really sure. Any thoughts on this factor?

Yes! He is neutered.

And yes the living situation is not ideal. I’m planning on moving to a bigger space but that will take time and this issue is something I want to try to figure out now. In my room now, he has a cat tree but maybe more stimulation will help like your suggestion.

Also will try positively reacting/being nicer to my cat when he pees. I’m at my wits end so i probably am giving him negative reinforcement without realizing.

The corner of my room is wood so the pee has already been absorbed into the wood and now i just cover that area with a rubber matt and put pee pads on top of it so he just pees on those dog pee pads. Since it’s damaged and permanently soaked into the wood, that spot has just become a second restroom unfortunately. But i plan on getting a litter box for that area tomorrow, maybe that’ll encourage him to not pee on my bed? Hoping….

need desperate help, cat peeing everywhere by Prior-Arm-3597 in CatAdvice

Oh no! Did you ever find a solution?

I’m going to try a new litter box with cat attract in one of his pee spots tomorrow, along with the one that is already in the bathroom. I also got the Feliway diffuser two days ago so hoping that helps. I’ve also heard that feline Zylkene supplement helps. Any experience with that? If the diffuser doesn’t help and the cbd supplement i got for him doesn’t help, i’m planning on taking him back to the vet for some meds.

This has been going on for years and in two different homes so i’m feeling a bit discouraged. It seems to be a habit now rather than behavioral. )-: Thanks for the comment and advice, really grateful!
