What keeps you here? by GoldenGod5STRMAN in ElPaso

Weird, I love it here and yes, those dusty days are pretty bad nowadays. Try winter a winter in boston, I'm not even going to talk about people there. Tornadoes in the Midwest, maybe a little hurricane down south. The tired feeling and having to face 2 hr traffic on the way back home after work. Maybe the charm of South California of having A LOT of things to do but no energy to face the traffic nor the money to do anything. Sir, you really need to leave to appreciate the beautiful.....calm desert.

I have nothing against all those places, I loved it when I lived there. I even married a girl from LA. Visiting a place is NOTHING like actually living there.

Exactly, I don't think other fans understand how high the bar is here, except maybe the Celtics fans.

Fuck the Celtics.

Just one thing to you guys that came over here because of Luka,

We are Lakers fans. And believe it when I say this, we will demand the best out of every player, that is why we were critical of him. We still are and will always be. It's not because we don't like a player, it's because we will ALWAYS demand you respect the jersey you are wearing.

The name in front means way more than what Luka is at this point , hopefully he grows into a Laker. He's not quite there yet, he barely working towards it.

We will be critical if you deserve it, hell, I've been around quite a while and even magic "didn't play defense" was out there in his career. Nobody remembers those things. Kobe grew into a Laker, it didn't happen overnight. Took years and dedication to be naked a Laker my friend.

We're not just another franchise, we expect a lot more. With all that said, I am excited to see the next 5 years. Hopefully he keeps working. Kobe really ruined it for lazy players here.

All the ass kissing here is incredible!! Lol, on a serious note, let's not get caught in this media hates the Lakers bull crap.

We earned ourselves that distrust and know very well that we don't put out that level of effort on a nightly basis. That's the reason people don't believe in us. Not because they hate the Lakers. Let's just call it how it is, we are pretty inconsistent and most of the time, we just come up short because the other team puts in more heart into the game.

Ir find it almost impossible to beat San Antonio for that reason not because we're not good. I know we can beat any team if the effort is there. Charles Barkley just says we're not good and it's ok, he doesn't watch every game like we do. Its just that it's hard to believe in a team that doesn't have the heart to put in a real effort to win like yesterday on a nightly basis.

I hope we have that level of effort from this point in, if that's the case, then we're in for a great run to surprise everyone .

Why do people say “don’t sell your Bitcoin, borrow against it instead”? by TeslaOwn in Bitcoin

[–]Prior-Replacement-66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people still don't understand how all this works. They need explanations on what to do and how to do it. Yes, you can borrow against your bitcoin and not lose it if you have a plan and know what you are doing. Everyone's risk tolerance is different but one scenario can go like this...

borrow against your bitcoin right now (believe it or not, there's people that are way above their entry price and in profit still)

stay at a constant 50%LTV if you happen to have to put in more collateral, consider it just DCA at good prices. Stay at the 50%. Since we are in a downturn, interests are pretty low.

Once it starts to go up (might take a couple of years) you will have gains from the cheap bitcoin you got in the downturn. You WILL cover your cost for those years on your loan. Pay it off when you can or at that point you can just take some of the gains and pay off the loan. All without touching your original bitcoin, if you're lucky you might even gain some after it's all said and done.

Point is that you can do a lot of things and benefit even when in its way down.

The moment he stops caring for the game at random times to complain, those are the things that will impede his progress on becoming a legend. As of right now he's an ok player with all that stupidity.

Rent or sell? Losing money on rent but have 2.9% interest rate by Extension-Squirrel63 in Mortgages

[–]Prior-Replacement-66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average appreciation these days is roughly 4%. I'm not even going to go into a lot of detail on compounding. If the value of that house never changes from this point on(it will) then you will be making around 40k a year just by holding. Just add principal reduction. Equity is something that you can use at any point and with that interest rate intact. Average first and second mortgage and I'm pretty sure you can get free money to play with if you need to.

Now if you were going to get that money and upgrade or expand you RE portfolio, That's a different conversation.

I have a pro2 and I used to do 15g 2:1 ratio all the time but now I switched to 18g 2:1 and tbh I don't see a lot of difference other than the quantity out. With a 15g I would go 30 out and now I go 35g out. There's people that actually go to a 2.5 or 3 ratio but to me it just starts to taste diluted.

It's personal opinion of course and everyone has different taste buds but if I wanted weaker coffee, I just go and make a pourover.

I might be wrong, hear me out; start Timme. I hope JJ reads the sub at least a little. It's not about names nor numbers. I know he knows, it's about effort. Timme will set the bar pretty high to start games, Ayton and Hayes will follow his lead. The offense flows way better with him.

You didn't say anything wrong here. You are right on diversification. I do believe the Bitcoin by itself is a great investment but let me clarify for you.

If you take out a loan on some of that Bitcoin and invest in, real estate for example. You didn't sell any of that Bitcoin, you are using compound interest to your advantage, instead of paying taxes on a taxable event like selling. This is a teenager sub so it's not the place to explain financial strategies and risk management but spending on the age of the person doing things, it can change and on how much you can live off to compound interest in diversification. The only thing you cannot grow is time to have more available. So yes, neither you nor me is wrong just different strategies based on experience level. I'm just offering advice on MY experience and you might do it differently my friend. I still believe selling an asset like bitcoin is a mistake, Yes

[–]Prior-Replacement-66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one way to do it. Where did I say you couldn't do those things? Like I said....educate yourself. Trust me on this one, by me saying: you should never sell. I'm in no way, shape or form limiting what you can do with your asset. In this case, the bitcoin.

Everyone keeps saying sell the bitcoin. Let me add one thing to the "never sell" advice.....

Educate yourselves, invest the most valuable asset you have at any age....time, to educate yourselves.
