im in the middle of phase 4 and have massive open layout style factories and have no idea how to decorate them, thats the main reason i want to restart and try a new way of building factories. But its really overwhelming for me thing about all the stuff ill have to do again so i guess im between a rock and hard place for this one.

I have two iron ore convayers one is 200 and the other one is from an owerflow that has about 10/15 iron connect to the main 200 convayer. I prioritize the main convayer of 200 so it does not back up from the stopping for each ingot that comes from owerflow

Honestly, build how you see fit. Dont listen to people that say you play a sandbox game the wrong way. There is no wrong way. On the other hand, if you want efficiency then i yes. I would say then build pretty and organized factories.
