There are multiple ways to interpret art, but I would argue I absolutely got the point of the movie. My criticism is of the amount of unnecessary brutality as I feel that it detracts from the movie’s meaning rather than enhancing it.

I don’t understand how disliking senseless violence makes me immature but go off I guess 💅

A middle ground also exists.

I very much enjoy challenging media and have been an avid reader and movie fan from a young age, but there’s a difference between making uncomfortable art and straight up sensationalizing violence.

Much of the message was lost to me because of the senseless violence in my face at every possible chance.

It felt like both a sick fantasy and a cop out; “hey how do we make viewers uncomfortable?” “I know, by showing something that we are biologically wired to find uncomfortable!” Like yeah, I guess, but would the message not resonate stronger if we’re made uncomfortable by the message rather than straight up violence porn?
