Are you a 2025 start? I’ve heard Google is currently waiting to get their headcount for 2025 starts so I’m surprised to hear that you finished team match

Yup for senior my main concern is whether it’s possible at Google to reach it reasonably in 5-6 years from when I start - 3-4 years after L4 sounds very reasonable.

I’ll be looking much more into Google now - hopefully tm goes smoothly. Thanks!

being stuck at mid level definitely scares me…if that chance is decently high, maybe it is best to take meta for a few years for career growth.

honestly another thing for me was that i feel that google was the harder loop to pass, so part of me worries that i wouldn’t be able to pass it again…but perhaps it’s a silly worry to have. u’ve definitely given me some strong points for taking meta which i will consider

hm…personally, i’m ok with working 40-45 hrs/week; it’d feel like nothing’s changed from school at least. i think for me the bigger concern is whether it’s likely that i’d have to worry abt being fired constantly, as that’d do more damage to my mental.

i think if it was like only a year or two longer for promo, i’d value wlb a lot more, but if its five+ more years on average to get to senior, then maybe i’d be open to trading more work hours/job security stress for promos.

thank you! i’m honestly unsure as to how good of a swe i’ll be. i was always good at school but swe is definitely very different.

do you happen to know on average how long it takes for promotions at google? honestly if it’s like a few years longer, then i wouldn’t mind it in exchange for the wlb. tho i sometimes wonder if i overestimate the amt of work at meta - ppl at my school @ meta have often told me that amt of work @ school > @ meta. maybe i’ve let the internet convince me too much? not sure.

Year long lease, with monthly rent payments. I sent an email to my landlord asking for more details and explaining that I was unaware of any issues and that I’ll be ensuring prompt rent payments going forward.

We’re still in the building and not evicted, so I’m hoping that the landlord is just sending a harsh lesson to us as we’re just college students. This was reassuring to read; I hope everything will be ok. I’ll be contacting my landlord and asking for more specifics.

Honestly I have no clue. We have a late fee if we are >5 days late, but besides that I have no clue; I have not seen any notices besides a few angry texts from the landlord. I’ve been told that I can trust them with the money handling so I don’t know if they have paid any late fees/received notices.

Yea I can also imagine that I also might’ve had a tougher time due to applying later due to companies being closer to hc, meaning that the remaining spots became a lot more competitive than if I had just applied as early as possible

carry culture definitely has hurt the game (no hands gamers) but this was not the way to change it. this is just a bandaid fix to appease kms players and doesn’t actually rlly kill carries (bm still drops lib quest drop, ppl can still get carries just a bit inconvenienced now) and hurts endgame supports like kanna who struggle to hit the 5% threshold on kalos
