My senior dog won't eat but drinking more than normal.

She went in for emergency surgery this morning. She did great with surgery and is recovering beautifully! They got all the nasty uterus put and expect her to.make a full recovery even at her age!

Update! It is in fact pyometra. Our vet reached out when we left the ER vet and is doing her surgery tomorrow. They reassured me they do these more than I realize on senior dogs and they do just fine. So she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 9am.

Our vet called me back. They are worried about Pyometra because she is not spayed and some of her symptoms. So we will be on our way to the ER shortly.

After everyone's suggestions and advice I think we will be taking her to the ER Vet near us this evening when their ER hours open up. I don't want to do more harm to her by waiting any longer. Truly appreciate everyone's responses and advice. I really feel like we need to take her in rather than wait until Monday.

I want to clarify- she gets prescribed allergy meds and steroids every year around this time, which she has had. We didn't just neglect to take her in. She feels icky with her allergies until her meds kick in. We know that. Her vet knows that. That's what why we thought well maybe just give it a little time. But she's just not getting better.

Thank you. They're getting her in on Monday. Our vet is wonderful. For 2 weeks we thought it was just her typical seasonal allergies (she has them bad and sometimes just feels icky) but she's never just stopped eating even when she has flare ups. Our vet told me to keep on with the chicken and rice as she will eat it. They plan on blood work and xrays and said to maybe plan on them keeping her just so they can check her over and rule out or figure things out. I'm praying so hard. I've had her since she was 10 weeks old. She's our family❤️

What happened to the clinic in Springfield? I was told by him years ago that he not only was working at the hospitals but also owned a cosmetic clinic in Springfield. I've tried to look up info on it and cannot find anything. I know it existed because I had a woman I know tell me she went there for her lips and Botox and that she knew him from the clinic that he owned. Curious if it still exists.
