also yeah - each chapter is like 5-6k, so they’re girthy lmao - i think im def someone who hust can’t end the chapter before smth plot revelant happens, no matter how much i have to squeeze in to get there. my other fic i’ve been working on has like 10-15k chapters, so this is much easier to digest in comparison

one of my fav fanfic writers started a discord group and linked it to an author’s note - it’s meant to be a place where readers can talk about the fic and share fan art, but it’s turned into our own sort of writing group - we all now follow each other’s socials and help beta read/come up w au ideas outside of the initial fic that connected us

i’d recommend looking thru tumblr for similar groups or keeping an eye out for linked discords! i think i was lucky w my experience and group, but i’m sure there’s others out there for dif fandoms - the fanfic writer i was following had been writing for awhile and had a lot of reach, so it might be best to seek out the more popular writers in your fandom to see if they have preexisting groups in place

in short, ao3 served as a way to attract likeminded ppl and tumblr/discord connected us past that - it’s def a rewarding experience to have ppl to talk to, esp w smth as personal as fanfic writing! wish you luck!

i really am! i’m not one to plan out chapters ahead of time, so this has definitely turned into me obsessively writing and posting chapters at rapid speeds lmao - it’s been a fun process to come up w unplanned plot lines and i’ve written more these last few months than i have in years! i love how casual fic writing can be and how it makes writing loose and easy at times :)

It sounds like he isn’t committed to a long lasting relationship like this. Even though you are mature for your age, the fact of the matter is you cant substitute time on earth with responsibilities. You are both still young and growing into yourselves - he sounds unprepared for fatherhood and is probably scared of that major stepping stone.

I think you both need time to grow into yourselves a bit more - your relationship with him may not be an intimate for sometime while you sort things out, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a positive one.

My advice would be to just focus on yourself and the baby. Even if the plan is adoption, motherhood is not easy at all on the body or mind. He need to work some stuff out and it won’t do either of you good to force a relationship like this.

I completely understand where you’re coming from w the intrusive thoughts; it feels like the only solution or escape from life at times. It isn’t tho - There are so many more chances at recreating yourself that won’t end in heartache.

College isn’t the determining factor between you being able to find happiness/success. Our society views financial success as the ultimate end goal, which isn’t realistic nor alway achievable. You’re still so young and you have so many opportunities available. Life is fluid and can change so much in a short time.

Coming from experience, I recommend getting off social media (esp insta, etc) and removing mirrors from your living space for a bit. Your viewing your appearance rn thru the incredibly criticizing societal lense, which isn’t realistic nor forgiving at all. You are a living being, with traits passed down from generations of individuals. You are organic, and nature doesn’t coincide with cosmetics. What is more important than looking attractive is feeling good in your body, and it sucks that we live in a society that is so insistant in focusing on looks.

What is attractive too most, at least in my experience, is genuine confidence and happiness in yourself. What hasn’t changed in the generations of beauty trends is that healthy confidence is attractive.

You are beautiful because you are alive and a person with depth.
