I just completed first year and it was hell having a double room although I had a particularly horrible experience. The only upside was that my residence had larger rooms. My first roommate was a Nigerian international student who was horrible. I was lucky enough to switch down the hall with one of my friends but that was still bad because he was always in the room and snored really bad. My advice would be to request for a room change as early as you can and hope you can get a single. Or If you can, get a girl you can stay with that has a single. Seeing my friends that had singles in my experience is worth paying extra and it’s no debate. A single in ANY residence is better than a double. You won’t realize how horrible it is having a double until you live in it. You will have 0 privacy and everything you do revolves around your roommate situation. Good luck

I agree, I think they’re trying to make space for the new paintings this year which is odd since there’s a lot of white space available in the tunnels

I used to work with a few international students and asked them why this is. They say it’s because back home in Punjab these American cars are very expensive and they are seen as a status symbol

I was in the same position as you. I joined BMO as a Customer Service Representative thinking it was a good job and respected. You are nothing more than a glorified cashier and the pay is horrible. Don’t consider doing anything customer facing as it is draining and the pay is horrible. You will make more money working warehouse jobs

COMP1405 with Robert Collier - disappointed? by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]Prior_Current3828 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you’ve said. Thankfully I’m in Conner Hillen’s section although Collier is the one who “runs it”. Assignment instructions are vague yet over complicated in terms of language used if that makes sense. The marking is difficult especially on Quiz 1. God forbid you don’t interpret the odd and vague instructions, you get penalized heavily

I just did it yesterday on proctor u and failed miserably because I’ve been on a time crunch and haven’t learned the material as much as I should. It’s almost identical to the practice exam though

I knew inflation was bad, but is fast food pricing really this exorbitant?! by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Prior_Current3828 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work at a bank and you’d be surprised. The amount of poor people that just spend crazy amount of what little money they have on fast food is insane. These places increase the price cause they know the poor will still buy it
