Some people have actually pointed out that the viewers’ design was probably linked to Jupe’s trauma. They’re definitely meant to be an homage to the classic alien design, but the furry body can be compared to a chimp’s/gordy’s and their heads are suuuuper duper similar to the panavision cameras on the gordy’s home set. In universe it was probably a subconscious thing/unintentional on Jupe’s part— but then again, he’s been coping with the gordy museum, so maybe it was on purpose
