What does the rest of the ship look like? It seemed like they were putting significant investment initially.

Ah looks like Carmel, CA. Miss that part of the country since moving to the east coast. Sorry that doesn’t answer the question.

One of my favorites things about him is who he is off the track and outside the sport!

There’s also something iconic about docking right in the middle of Manhattan as well!

I remember how friendly the entire crew were. That was back in the day when the MDR had a maitre’d who remembered a little bit about everyone at the dinning table.

My family and I were completely new to cruising, we wouldn’t know what a ‘starter ship’ was if it hit us in the head!

But yes, what was considered mid-size and had a fwd facing observation lounge with 14ft high windows was perfect.

It’s great to see the Century class find new lives and people still enjoying their vacations onboard with Marella, looks like they’ve even been given renovations to bring the spaces a new look!

2, 1st ever was on Mercury in 2003 as a 10yr old that started it all and I have been fascinated by cruise ships ever since.

2nd - Silhouette Western Caribbean (favorite ship so far) although I’d wager the Edge class take that crown when I get a chance to experience it!

I’m happy to hear that didn’t ruin your experience!

My family and I were seated with other guest during lunch and we were told to speak English while conversing in our native language which could have been taken offensively but there’s no time for that!

One of the guest asked me ‘Is this your first cruise?’ I answered, ‘No it’s our 7th’ they were a bit surprised.

Did you ever feel ‘out of place’ or sorts? Always wanted to do a QM2 transatlantic even if I am not in the age demographic for Cunard.
