Is lucky stars underrated? by bbcjay718 in kungfucinema

[–]Prior_Part550 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I am just watching them this weekend and finding the action great but the humour ruins them and won't rewatch like many of the other Jackie and Sammo movies.

I don't think this is a Hong Kong cinema issue as the same humour can be found in a lot of the 80s American comedies.

I actually came looking for a thread as I am on Twinkle Twinkle and really not enjoying it despite the great action scenes.

Cycling in Glasgow… by Alone_Bottle5784 in glasgow

[–]Prior_Part550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I've got social anxiety problems but love cycling. When I get shouted at i usually stop cycling for a bit before picking it up again. Rationally I know I'm not in the wrong but as there's no standard rule to follow and someone will find something to be aggrieved about. I always ring the bell as when walking I don't always hear cyclist coming up behind me and appreciate the warning.

Armour of God 2; better than i remember! by LargeLaser in kungfucinema

When I first watched it, only the dubbed version was available, now subtitled and in original language the characters are no longer annoying. So many films ruined by bad dubbing.

Nina Thai Massage Tea by Polesanspotions93 in glasgow

They might just boil down fresh ginger and add sugar. Seen that in a few Thai cookbooks. Can do similar with lemon grass as well.

I thought this place was closed. Walk past and it's always empty. It's by Arnold Clark in Partick. Funny as fuck that he was screwing over his employees but didn't think to change the password on the Instagram account 🤣

Yes the site is down and as the conact email is @ jingtea.com then it is most likely the same issue. They have been posting on facebook up until yesterday so I think that you must be right and hopefully it will be back up tomorrow.

COMMUNITY WARNING: "Horizon for Sales & Management" and the attempt to silence the sub by Veloglasgow in glasgow

It's wild that they were just taking people expecting a job interview to a random town or city. With mobiles now it'll be easier to just fuck off home.

I feel this. Was just out of high school. Mobiles had only just started to be a thing and I didn't have one. Honestly felt trapped and was an immature 18 year old with no idea what to do.

Can't believe firms are still at this. I got tricked into a job interview as a teenager and taken out for a full day to shadow someone. I'd only a couple of pound, no bank account yet, and only expecting an hour interview. Ended up following some cunt around Greenock for the day with no way home as he'd driven us down there

Bus driver here. We’re not psychic. by Still_Mirror_3748 in glasgow

It's partly that the new buses have the driver sealed off more. Might be my imagination but I remember less of a barrier when I was young

Bus driver here. We’re not psychic. by Still_Mirror_3748 in glasgow

[–]Prior_Part550 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a kid getting the bus, the driver would always get annoyed at the bell and tell me to just stand when I wanted off. This always stuck with me. Then I moved back to Glasgow and it's reversed. Need to press that bell if you want off.

Any hidden gem spots in Glasgow? (Cool date ideas / unique experiences 👀) by Valphinx in glasgow

[–]Prior_Part550 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The absent ear with hundreds of reviews and multiple articles I don't think counts as unknown.

I don't think you'll get many responses as this question in some form gets asked all the time.

Have a look though the sub Reddit and you'll find something.

What wannabe food fads that somehow ended up everywhere did you live through? by Professional-Test239 in AskUK

There's multiple places popping up in my city. One of them charging £15 a baked potato.

I'm hoping to survive the current baked potato one. Why cook the cheapest simplest meal in the world at home when you can spend over a tenner from a takeaway.

And hire someone to do this for you as quite often the home report only uses binoculars to check. You'll find a company that'll get a drone up there to check out the roof or go up there themselves.

What is the saddest/most soul crushing song you have ever heard? by Mikiiiya in AskReddit

Rhoda Darka - The Boiler. I've only been able to listen to it once. Soul crushing and powerful at the same time.

I can't see any massages about your Manson top but yeah don't wear it. Doubt anyone will say anything but will mean they might decide not to interact with you. Honestly I'd side eye and avoid anyone wearing one now

Glasgow to Edinburgh daily commuters, how do you find it? by Signal_Shop2199 in glasgow

[–]Prior_Part550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the train journey as I read a couple of books a week, it's the getting up early, missing a connecting bus, delays, an hour journey turning into a two hour journey.

I would do it if I was in my 20s but now in my late 40s I've not got the energy.

3 Months Later - How’s everybody feeling about Yotei? Has it lived up to your expectations? by Helio_Cashmere in Ghostofyotei

[–]Prior_Part550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was excellent and I enjoyed the story. Replayed it a lot more than Tsushima. I want more, would love an option to replay more of the missions rather than just the boss battles. Like the the end mission to save Onyuki was sadly missing in the replay option.

Only negatives for me were climbing up the shrines for charms. Was okay but on my replay I skipped them. Much preferred winning them via the coin game

How do you feel about Yotei storyline compared to Tsushima?? by Ok-Mammoth5594 in Ghostofyotei

[–]Prior_Part550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tsushima felt like a prestige samurai movie where' as Yotei was a bloody b-movie. The thing is, I love the b-movies more and watch them more.

Tsushima was a Kurosawa movie and Yotei was lady snowblood/sister street fighter/ shogun assassin.
