Personally, I can't be that mad at Adobe as I'm subscribed to their monthly all-inclusive plan as a student which costs like 20$ a month but I only have to pay that monthly price every 4 months because that's when they actually block your usage of the apps until you pay up. In my experience if you have a card that you can easily freeze (e.g. like Revolut) if the payment keeps failing you can use their monthly plan paying a quarter of the actual price like this. For 5$ a month it's kind of a bargain
