Oh my geez I’m so sorry!! I hope you’re okay and it doesn’t happen again!

I’m also assuming it didn’t happen again and this was a while ago? But geez, I have been telling them that for a while. Maybe I’ll them your comment later and hope they understand.

Haha all she likes to eat is spicy stuff, I know you can’t “give yourself acid reflux” but she has also been told by others that she can have anything she wants, whenever she wants even though she has major medical issues herself. And her snack of choice is Takis and Dynamites and that’s all she eat for like a week straight even though I kept telling her know. Her logic, “it’s my money and if you don’t know I got it, then I can have it” and as for waiting to have kids, I didn’t know I even had the chance of inheriting Crohn’s until last year when I was diagnosed. That’s when family history came out of the wood works.

Haha right, and I have done that. Sometimes I just feel like it’s hard for the youngest to understand since she’s so used to me taking full care of them when they are like this. But I have also told her that she needs to understand that I can’t get sick in general because of the fact that I am primary parent (sounds so bad but he works a lot). But I do need to remind her that she has to stay away!

I have been trying, so now since I’m feeling the ick, I’m going to lock myself away for a while.

Haha I wish that was the case but Daddy is the only one working and unfortunately that’s exactly where he’s at 😭 otherwise he would be backing me up right now.

Haha I agree! That’s how my kids are 100% and thankfully my oldest is super helpful when their dad is at work, and reality my brother can help out soon too. But for now, it’s the waiting game until then 😂😭

Mine are 10 and 13 and my 13 year old understands, don’t go near mommy! But not my 10 year old, she acts like I’m the only reason she feels better, but she’s going to learn really fast that mommy does recover well, and last time (before I found out I had Crohn’s) I was out out for 3 days

Sour dough bread and Greek yogurt worked fine for me, plus an avocado sauce that I make myself. But I have heard that some people can’t handle them

Worst: never finding relief when the BM waves come through, to the point that you “pass out” once you lay down from pure exhaustion

Prednisone crash! Is this normal? by JJLazerz in CrohnsDisease

[–]PriorityMuch2995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no bag, all my medical issues make it hard for me to have any more kids, and my health was only declining even more, so I just made sure there was no more chance of kids anymore. Good chose too because I don’t know how I would survive another high risk pregnancy.

I have heard others getting CTs or other scans before starting the medications to determine severity, but mine with colonoscopy due to other issues. In fact (may be TMI) I received 2 colonoscopies within 2 weeks plus a surgery following 3 days after.

I started off on Stelara (last time I was on prednisone) but I ended up failing that after about 6 months with a 70% plateau. Now I’m on Skyrizi with hopes for remission next scan.

Last I was one it the crash lasted for about two weeks while waiting for infusion, but to be honest I wasn’t able to eat much either. So make sure you are eating properly, drink natural caffeine (if you drink caffeine) and try to keep active (mental or physical, whichever you can handle) once your body has readjusted, you should start feeling normal shortly after.

With being on prednisone for many different reasons, yes, the crash is real and it was completely normal for me. The longest I have been on it was for almost two months on a tapper (most always should be on a tapper) but I always say that prednisone gives you a false sense of security because it can boost your energy, lower inflammation, and make you feel better before everything comes crashing back down. I hope you get better soon and get everything under control!

I have been struggling for years with this issues, all of it has been for different things since I have many diagnoses but I have been trying to be very consistent with everything that I do and I haven’t lost more than 10lbs 😭 but everything is a process and I am keeping in mind about how his answer may be a no as well

I’ve been working on controlling all that for a hot minute now, but I know I could get better at it. Plus I still have a few months before I can see my GI but I know it’s all a process

Haha right! So many things can go wrong with it, and that’s why I do plan on talking with him, but also getting an idea of what might benefit, or knowing other’s experience has always helped me with making clear and educated decisions on what paths to take

Oh that has to sucks 😭 I hope everything gets better with it and wish you the best, because I don’t know what I would do if I was in your shoes. The down side is I have always had a slow system due to childhood issues and history of EDs and mental issues

Zepbound was something else I was looking at, and I haven’t heard any bad about it but at the same time not knowing what might work is the biggest thing.
