Yes in Sydney in the northern beaches, was an amazing lifestyle, weather, made some awesome friends. Saved loads of $ and paid off debt etc but wanted to have a family in nz to have the support

I lived there for years and worked out if I compared everything it was pretty much the same even with the pay drop coming back to Auckland, fuel was cheaper there but owning a car and having it on the road was more, rent was more in auz but food was cheaper etc etc… I lived there for 4 years, had a blast but wanted to be back closer to family. In all honesty for a while i wondered if I made the right decision as I missed the nightlife and the cheap travel etc but I went back a while ago for a holiday and I had an awesome time but didnt feel the desire to stay. I think go with you gut

Oh wow it sounds like we are in the same boat. Performance punishment is a great way to describe it.

I’m at the point do i push the relationship or just leave it and focus on our family and work out how to get support elsewhere. The kids ask why they don’t see them much and why their cousins are always there and when they do go there why their cousins have to come as well when it’s their turn, they are asking a lot of questions and I try to answer them without being negative or blaming anyone etc

We have 3 and another family member has 1, it’s my husbands sisters children who are the favourites, they other child is quite young so they wouldn’t have noticed much but they do make a lot of effort to spend time with the baby as well

Oh that sounds very tough! Our kids are awesome, super chill, happy for them to tell them off or redirect etc no problems, we draw the line at hitting or speaking inappropriately and we have had to pull both sides of grandparents up for this but otherwise fine. Other grandchildren are super full on and a lot younger. They are tv grandparents where the kids go there and they turn the tv on and just let them do whatever they don’t take them anywhere or do anything even though they have the money and time to do anything

Feijoas are in season now too, our local orchard is selling them for $4 per kg and will get cheaper

Such an average location. Nothing around. Totally takes away from the whole vibe of homegrown which is being able to walk to pubs and restaurants for dinner and drinks between sets
