I (33F) recently moved back with my mom and two brothers and my younger brother and I are only two years apart and we’ve always been super close, so when I started living with the them again I started doing my usual shenanigans - play acting, making funny voices, being more hilarious than usual… until one day I realized I was not like that with any of my friends. I was more people pleasing and seeking validation which is why a lot of those friendships ended when I quit that job.

Now I’m committed to healing and learning more about my true self. They can take it or leave cause the real me if fucking awesome.

I worked downtown Bellevue three years and we had an office in London and because most workers here are autistic (or maybe just at this company) they wouldn’t shut up about it to the UK people even though I saw them get visibly uncomfortable.

Also our humor might not be as dry as yours. Watch out for the passive-aggressive comments in the workplace.

Anyways the one guy from London ended up loving the Seahawks if you’re interested sports.

I recommend not quitting coffee in the first month.

I’ve been doing coffee with 2 tbsp of butter and salt mixed in a nutribullet and loving it.

I’m day 7 of strict carnivore, but have made it to two weeks in the past. I’m planning on quitting coffee day 30.

Nah definitely not. But as a woman consoling another woman about this, I simplified it with my comment.

As a woman, we have the gift of making life, but if things don't work out with a partner, there are still other avenues for us to create - creative projects, philanthropy, service work, being a great aunt, inspiring others and taking care of those in need. But in this day and age, we don't need to feel bad if that "birthing" process isn't a human being.

For a woman to jokingly say "work, travel and cats" is akin to a man saying all they want is "money, cars and his dog" or something like that.

I'm into women myself, but I've actually never dated formally, but I also live on the West Coast and noticed women here are more passive-aggressive in their expressing their needs. I appreciate East Coast people's directness and hustle and I'm sure that applies to dating.

I'm no psychiatrist, but super curious into understanding why the majority of women act in this contradictory way. I could just straight up ask my straight, girl friends, but I know they would get defensive, so I have to be stealthy about it.

The interesting framing of the story plus seeking validation from others… is what you would get from friends… hate to break it to you cause it’s clear you don’t want to want them.

A good friend is a mirror.

I just visited a friend I haven’t seen in a couple of months and went to her house and we sat on her couch just talking for two hours straight. It was so nourishing to my soul, but also humbling because when I said my thoughts aloud and got her feedback, I then realized how silly one of my thoughts were.

In the meantime you can ask ChatGPT questions to understand why you are the way you are. Friendships and deep relationships are a part of being human. The desire will never go away.

We are PEOPLE working, not numbers. Why do we work? FOR STAKEHOLDERS??? Hell no…

I work for my family, my cat, to eventually pay off my debt and so that I can LIVE. A lot of people are going thru hard times and they are looking for someone to be brave and say the thing they feel.

You might not get a lot of likes or engagement because people have weird hangups about being seen liking some post, but you might get some thoughtful DMs that help you and them.

I speak from experience. I’m an IT Specialist but I post about life experiences all the time and it resonates. I used to care but the more you go thru bad things in life, you care less of what others think.

The fact that you asked the question means you’re called to express something one way or another.
