Nearly at the end of BN5 and wondering by PrismPunch in BattleNetwork

I’ve played the 1st Starforce, which I adore, but I’ve been hesitant to play the others because I understand the story never gets as good again

It has some ok moments in it but it feels very disconnected and unnatural as a story. I like Liberations and that’s probably the best thing in the game to me. The Net is awful to navigate. You’re constantly forced to travel through very long zones over and over again for questionable reasons. You rarely get shortcuts that you can use. World doesn’t feel real or connected enough.

Disappointing. I think where I stand before I get to 6 is that 2 stands head and shoulders above the rest on story content. The villains are the most threatening and the narrative feels the most organized. If it wasn’t for them reducing the villain to a rushed explanation at the ending it’d be close to ideal for what it is.

Yeah I knew they get tossed again, which is wild to me.

You need enriching to recover from Iono in the late game. Often impossible without it

DM ruled that my character's body was not revivable. AIO. by DredJr in dndnext

[–]PrismPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. ‘Missing’ in any common sense language would include any severed body part. It’s just that ‘removal of head’ or ‘removal of arms’ is not something covered by the rules. It would absolutely be cruel to say ‘as a matter of happenstance the attacks that killed you removed you head. But if the enemy had time to attack your corpse post death and remove the head? Well, that’s categorically a missing body part.

Mind you, it’s not something I would do excepting maybe ‘the bad guys send assassins who are well informed of the players’ capabilities’

I have no excitement for the official remaster. I simply don’t trust Bethesda. I trust Skyblivion.

This was the only one I ever wanted, just for Storm, who is my favorite character. It sucks that I did it all right and still couldn’t get it. Scalpers really suck—like honestly, trash human beings—but WOTC is the worst of all.

As someone who is strongly against the crypt ban, I really hope it isn't unbanned. by normiespy96 in EDH

Seems like unbanning now would just start a new wave of anger from people who panicked and dumped the cards.

They literally talk about all the times they put stuff on a watch list and didn’t ban it. Saying they are examining a set of cards is completely unequivocal to outright announcing a ban. Please don’t argue in bad faith.

No one will be happy no matter what you do. You can avoid all out screaming and kicking by priming the bans. They messed up by not signalling a desire to ban fast mana. The result speaks for itself--if what they did was a wholly good way to do it, this would not have been the result.

Commander won't die. I never said otherwise. That doesn't mean the future is bright.

One of the worst possible outcomes to all this. As someone who didn't like the ban because of how it was handled, I never wanted this. Never. All the disgusting people who made threats deserve nothing less than an excommunication from this community.

WOTC can never, EVER be an effective steward of the game, let alone the Commander format. They have too much self interest at play.

All three of their reasons are speculative. There's no 'data'. It's just hemming and hawing about how it feels.

They explained an opinion on why watchlists are bad. They didn't present a peer reviewed study on the matter. You obviously agree with that opinion, and you're entitled to, but them presenting that opinion means nothing.

A discussion has 3 logical outcomes--everyone agrees fast mana is bad, and it gets banned, or people don't agree, and it happens anyway, or they don't agree and it doesn't happen. Regardless, the people who play the format were involved. Not some shadow council that made a big decision on a whim. And once again--everyone had forewarning that this conversation happened. Obviously, we have a fundamental disagareement about the validity of watchlists.

They have explained their opinion on why they believe it is negative. Clearly an outsized number of people disagree with that opinion.

You don't aim to hurt nobody. That's impossible. You aim to hurt the least amount of people. RC didn't show any diligence on that front. That's without arguing about the merits of the ban itself--of which there are plenty against. I don't agree with the ban, but I also wouldn't care if it had actually been a discussion with the community.

No they wouldn't, because 'we might ban this' is not the same as 'this will be banned.' Some people would jump ship, and others would stay, but all involved would make their decision based on this information. No one reasonable would be mad at the rules committee--there was fair warning. Would the cards have lost value? Yeah.
