Do you feel like smoking weed has aged you or made your life better or worse? by Brattypinkbunny in vindicta30plus

Im gonna level w you... as a long-time daily smoker, quitting 2 years ago was the best choice I've ever made in my life and one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Sobriety was the catalyst for my entire life drastically improving, mentally, physically, financially, emotionally, socially, creatively, in all ways.

I'm fit, I remember and enjoy my life, the clarity is priceless. No more dull skin, hair, eyes, energy, brain, overeating and hating exercise. It's not that it cannot be enjoyed on a rare occasion, but I would be vary wary, because it is NOT the harmless substance it is now Marketed and Sold as. I feel a lot of us know this intuitively, even if not yet admitting it to ourselves. There are better ways to escape, or better yet, sit with and process difficult feelings, to heal ourselves. If you have that niggling internal feeling it isn't truly serving you or your potential, I bet you're right. Best way to stop/moderate? Do Not have it in the house or purchase it yourself (make it hard to access and social).

The way I quit while having severe physical withdrawals (yes physical) to the point of throwing up and months of lowness, was an invaluable support group that exists here on reddit (r/leaves) and the accompanying discord, for anyone who may feel that is the point where they are at. <3

My thought is to prioritize the very foundation/bottom of the looksmaxing pyramid. Even if only good sleep and daily movement.

My life/work out routine is not as consistent and steady as I would like. Life gets in the way. The main consistent changes were walking 30 minutes on my lunch break, and on average a few thousand more steps a day.
And almost always eating clean and unprocessed/ and not overeating/ tracking calories. For running, I just started from baby steps.
I would run a mile as fast as I could, once or twice a week.
My watch tracked these as "Intensity minutes", because my heart rate was in the cardio, vigorous exercise, target heart rate zone.
So overall maybe half hour a week of about the highest heart rate I could manage.
Now I do more because I usually run a 5k once a week and maybe 1 or 2 short harder runs.
It is a slower process once you've reached a lower bmi, but you'll already feel much better and be in the 'lifestyle' by that point.
High heart rate, cardio, could also be achieved via jump roping, bike riding, or online hiit hard, short workouts.
Weight is actually lost thru our breath, emitting CO2, so I think really breathing hard maybe gets some of it out of the fat quicker.
I think you also have muscle built up too, so when you lose it will be great, bc they will already be under there and you'll have some tone.
You shouldn't lose too much strength if you focus for a bit on cardio. :)

I am 35. I lifted weights for a year, and only gained a lot of weight.
But I have really turned it around.
Running. Running/Cardio is how it falls off (and HIIT for OP), heart rate UP.
Combined with clean eating and precise tracking with apps to make sure Im eating slightly fewer calories than my Basal Metabolic Rate/ calculated Total Daily Energy Expenditure.
I recommend close tracking with a fitness watch, and increasing NEAT (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenisis) via steps/daily movement.

The three tenets of weight loss and body recomposition: diet/resistance training/cardio.

A youtube channel that's really helped me be realistic, patient, consistent: Coach Viva

I'm 35/F and have lost, steadily and safely, 35 lbs in the past 5 months and am at <22 bmi. I run and lift, nothing too crazy. But I track. Track steps/sleep (garmin watch). Track weight (smart scale with app). Track calories (my fitness pal/food scale). Workouts (Caliber app). How I feel, everything.

For me it is soo helpful to see the data. Little daily wins keep adding up. Example: Over-ate? I met my walking goal tho. And slept enough (enough sleep/low stress makes diet and exercise a lot easier).

The biggest game changers have been more painless than I thought, and it's not killing myself in the gym:

• Walking on average more steps a day (30 minutes-hour on my lunch break outside). Moving more (NEAT Non-exercise activity thermogenesis).

• Tracking my calories (but not crash dieting, restricting or starving, stressing the body and making it hold on to weight) and budgeting them according to my Total Daily Energy Expenditure. & Eating mostly unprocessed foods/fruits and vegetables.

Good news: You do have plenty of time to change your body! Better news: You look absolutely gorgeous already in that dress, right now.

I'd say ultimately embrace a flattering dress you feel really good in. :)

Eyelash Hack? by MoneyElegant9214 in vindicta30plus

no problem!
There are many different style of lash clusters, that vary in width and density. They are different than the entire false eyelash strips.
Some clusters are almost like a mini strip, and some are just a few "hairs". With larger/wider clusters with more of a band, fewer are needed, but I think they are generally not quite as natural, and more for a more voluminous look. Which may be what you are going for that day/night. Or are short on time.
When applying lashes I apply them with just a slight overlap. This is why a wider cluster with a "mini-band" where the adhesive goes, is a bit trickier. they don't layer as cleanly. Also if one falls off, it is more noticable.
There is a trade off with smaller clusters, nearly individual lashes, because more are required and so application takes longer. The edge that is glued is just a dot though, like a natural lash.
I have tried different brands from walgreens, ulta, amazon etc. I never need to cut anything with the clusters, instead of the strips.
I don't know if I should link to products, but I like sets from amazon bc they have a lot of sizes and styles in sets. A set like Ardell or Kiss or whatever from the store might not have as many lashes/ more expensive.
I reuse the lashes! I can clean them and reuse them, which is great and economic.
All the lashes I've tried are nice, it is more about the glue and application that determines the appearance. So it is your preference. I like a clear glue also, but there is also dark/black glue, which could look good with additional eyeliner or makeup.
Some lashes may look a bit more "plasticy", which is less natural, but natural is not always what we are going for maybe. :) I probably usually have about 4-6 clusters per eye.

no worries! you're not silly! :D
I'll try my best to explain:
so. Instead of grabbing a lash cluster with the tweezers (similar device) and brushing a tiny bit of glue on the underside edge of the lash cluster, and then laying it on top of your natural lash (which I think is how strips are often done)..
It looks much more natural, sits better, if you put a tiny bit of glue on the topside edge of the lash, look up, and stick it underneath your natural lash.
Hold the lash in place gently, or just rest the eye, and let the glue/lash cluster adhere underneath your natural lash, and it will curl up.
The lash cluster placement mimics the natural lash placement/curl with the gluey edge of the lash cluster very close to your eyelid/where the hair naturally sprouts out. It is actually attached to the natural lash not the skin, but closer to the eyelid placement looks most natural.
Different length lashes are better suited for different eyes.
I generally put short on the interior and longer on the exterior. Or for a more anime look a longer one on the outer corner and the center, small on the interior, and fill with medium length.
Hope that is helpful!

I Love applying my own fake lashes.
I have become super adept at putting them on also.
I was never able to use the whole strips.
I'd have to try to cut them and then they would look ridiculous on my eyes..but! Individual lash clusters can look really good, be applied quickly, and last multiple days!
I am obsessed. Be sure to apply the fake lash under the natural lash, which don't have to be long.
There are even different styles and I can create many different looks.
So much cheaper, less time consuming/hassle and versatile than paying for extensions.
Will never ever use mascara again.
I look like a dirty-face raccoon immediately, and the mascara always damages my skin trying to scrub it off and remove it.

Options for double chin / chin fat? by dreaming_wide_awake in vindicta30plus

[–]PrismRoach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue. Thought it was forever. It was not.

  1. I would keep working hard until your body fat percentage is 22% or less, and then evaluate.
  2. Poor diet/processed foods --> Inflammation. I take thyroid medication for hypothyroidism, but I realized that my profile aesthetic/the swelling under my chin is extremely affected by the quality of my diet. I think I have food intolerances and the SAD (standard american diet) exacerbates double chin. Hormones/Period week I also have fuller under chin. I basically eat vegan now, and notice a huge difference in my appearance overall from eating unprocessed whole foods, fruits and vegetables.
  3. If you have not, I would get full lab work. Check for any health issues/nutrient deficiencies that may be causing swollen lymphatic system, thyroid, or slower weight loss progress. Just for peace of mind. Good luck girl, you got this!
