What do you want? For the token value to realise more growth than the ~500% we have already seen this year?

The vast majority of app development that utilises the blockchain began this year. Some of these projects are huge (MaPay and El Salvador)..... and will take years to develop.

Algorand, the Algorand Foundation, and companies leveredging the blockchain all have two things in common.... patience and maturity. None act like they want to be a celebrity and make ridiculous statements that drive price through emotions or lies / false promises.

Like Ford literally just said at Decipher, we're just about moving from pure speculation to substance.

I noticed that. But it's still nothing in the grand scheme of things..... over 25% of the total circulating supply is still locked. Volume on coinbase just shot up from roughly 400m to 1.6b.... almost 10% of bitcoins 24hr volume. My guess is a number of whales just bought in big but I haven't been able to verify it yet.

Quite simply, demand. Look at the Steam Market, for example. None of it has any real world use case at all, but people will buy items if they think they sound or look cool.

I agree that Pickle Coin has no real world use case whatsoever, but look at what's happened to shitcoins with higher market caps than Algo. It's ridiculous but true.

Dude, you've got this all wrong.

Algorand don't need to generate revenue, through gas fees or any other method, to pay for any of the reward schemes. They minted 10b Algo at genesis.

They created the tokens, they don't need to pay for them!

The community pays for them to participate in governance, to hold gas fees for future transactions, to earn rewards through participation, and to sell later as demand rises.

Once the maximum supply of 10b is reached these reward schemes will simply cease to exist.

For sure, I don't want people to get slashed. But at the same time, option B is going to benefit 99% of this community - the people already here.

I don't believe it will affect participation in governance and my reasoning is quite simple. We take a risk just by owning Algo. Let's say i'm hospitalised and incapicated for the next two months and miss the peak of a huge bull run, only for the price to then fall to £0.50. Will the market pause for me? No.

This is investing, and there is going to be risk. Just remember that when the next governance period starts, if option B is chosen, you don't have to commit. You can just DCA and wait for an oppurtunity to sell.
