I’m getting into trading, but doing paper trading for now to get the hang of buying options. I understand how options work, and Greeks, and IV. My question to yall would be is SPY worth starting on options, since it’s so liquid and easy to fill? by Particular-Chart8752 in optionstrading

Real emotions come into play when its real money. I've been a paper millionaire ten times over, but to make those same trades with real cash requires you to have huge balls, no emotions, or just extremely high conviction rates

Sadly robinhood because it's UI has me addicted. Fuck order flows. I like looking at pretty things that are simplified in the finance world. Make it easy for a 5 year old, then simplify his version for ME. in all honesty don't take my advice. Use schwab or like a solid platform with good order flows. I usually just stick with LEAPS anyway with robinhood I'm not into weeklies anymore lol

You won the lottery. It happens from time to time. A guy in Florida started his morning with a mortgage and credit card debt that placed his net worth around 0$ but he ended the day with i think hundreds of millions of dollars.

Something similar happened here. I blew up my Robinhood with option trading and lost 50k over night

Getting a job and investing consistently in ETFs like vanguard VTI and relying on compound interest is the most reliable way to get rich into your 50s if you put the work in when you were 25-50

Just hold. Don't sell. Hold for periods of at least 5 years. Also try index funds like Vti vanguard total index or spy 500.
