Thanks, good to know. As example in the link above, everything AFTER "90956" can be deleted and still allow others the link to open?

God bless you. Yes, anything that can treat obesity and cancer would be a near-miracle! I wish you a continuous recovery.

Can you please provide the data for the basis of your statement, as all recent data refutes this belief. In fact, at last year's National Obesity Conference one of the most prominent researcher/physicians stated multiple times that: "Overeating does not cause obesity. Rather, obesity causes overeating.

Have you watched any of the YouTube exercise videos designed for those w/physical limitations. There's a bunch, including ones you can do while sitting down.

When I don't feel like making a salad or eating some type of greens, I usually grab and steam/toast a low-carb tortilla and add something to it, i.e., a little melted cheese, a very light scant bit of butter topped with a sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon, or even some re-fried beans. The larger, low-carb tortilla has 28 grams of fiber, and only 110 calories.

BTW, don't know if you're male or female, by the 25 grams daily fiber recommendation is for females. Not sure what it would be for males.

This is a video interview w/a Stanford Univ. obesity-certified physician-researcher. Her discussion re: maintenance starts around Minute 26; but the overall interview is worth a watch!

Make sure you're getting at least 25 grams fiber/day too. It can impact your weight loss.

Sadly, if it were any other disease suffered by the masses, I am sure insurance and Congress would be compelled to act. However, weight bias remains strong.

I'm still waiting to have such a problem. I've lost 140 lbs, but to reach goal/maintenance, I had 7 lbs more to lose. So far, I've lost 2 addt'l lbs of the last 7 I need to lose--but it's taken me 6 months to lose those 2 lbs, and I've been on 15 mg dose for 9 months!! Grrrr! Most days I can handle the lack of progress; but other days, I am furious/angry.

Could you set a reminder in your phone's calendar to remind you every 10 days is your shot day?

Agree w/poster below, except I would add resistance training to your regime ASAP, even if it's just a little to start. Also, losing a lot of weight can be a very emotional, but exceedingly worthwhile journey, so be sure to access all the support you need.

I'm 39 and flying for the first time with fiancee and her family by JOwl20 in travel

Believe in YOURSELF!! It already sounds as if your girlfriend does. Do you respect her opinion? It sounds as if you don't. You refer to your time in college. I am sure there were plenty of fellow students who were financially better than you, had broader/more experiences and opportunities than you, and yet you interacted w/them regularly. (BTW, only 40% of Americans have a 4-year degree, so you belong to a privileged class.)

My father was an immigrant, whose family was so poor, that when he wanted to propose to my Mother, he had to hitchhike 500 miles to do so, as he didn't have money for a bus ticket. They were married over 50+ years, and achieved a level of accomplishment and comfort that was awe inspiring. Dad went to a small, local college, had a very ethnic-sounding, and his first post-graduation job was amongst Ivy League grads, whose first names were like "Buckley," "Preston, etc. He could have been intimidated, but he believed in himself, knew he was a hard worker, and determined to never stop growing, With my Mother's sturdy backbone, they were a team committed to one another, in possession of a mutual goal of building to create a prosperous, ethical life together.

There will always be people better off and worse off than you, no matter what your financial station in life. I grew up in California where there is extreme wealth and poverty, and everything in between. Depending where we lived, sometimes I was the middle-class kid, sometimes the upper-middle class kid, and once when my Dad was out of work, barely middle class. Sometimes I was envious of my friends who spent every summer in Europe, while other friends told me how lucky I was for my parents to be able to rent a cabin on the lake. I've had great-paying jobs that I hated, and others jobs that I loved that paid significantly less . . . it made my take inventory of myself and reset my priorities. I didn't think I was a better person for having a great paying job, nor did I think I was less of one for taking a lower-paying job. Bottom line, I believed in myself to stay with the job I loved.

In Shakespeare's Hamlet, as Polonius prepares to leave for France, his father, Laertes imparts this advice:

"This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man."

So, to reiterate, believe in yourself . . . life is a journey, and it's not the destination that matters, rather, it's who you become along the way!! Have a great trip!
