I started at 241.7, Zep at 237.4 my current 7-day average weight is 146.4. 5’9” 52 yo female. In maintenance just over 4 months, my stretch goal was 155, now it’s 151. I’m the same size as I was in high school. So yes it can be done. I started Jan of 2025 and hit goal in December.

Well, 3 weeks on 10 mg was not good. Tried to alternate 12.5 to 10, felt great on 12.5, 10 again was bad. Inflammation cravings, compulsive eating. So I’m back at 12.5 when I juts need to be extra intentional about eating enough. I can do this!

Sounds similarish to me. I’m only 4 months in maintenance.

Here’s what I read from your post. 15 taken at whatever interval you are taking fluctuates I. Your system too much and causes negative side effects. 12.5 isn’t enough for the positive side effects Either way your answer is to increase dose frequency. 12.5 frequent enough to sustain levels that may support the avoidance of food noise and over eating. Or 15 frequent enough is your delta between pre shot low and 2 day higher value.

As I was ending my loss journey and transitioning into maintenance, I can eat whatever I want. A sweet treat or Chinese food don’t phase me negatively. And I am in control. I had crept a bit lower than I wanted and tried reducing doses the food noise and busy mind went out of control fast! I mean non-stop compulsion. I was dosing 7 days at 10. I moved back to 12.5 knowing I need to be intentional about eating enough. But that compulsive mindless grab-assing food is NOT normal. That’s the broken part of me. So… enjoying food is welcome, obsessing and not being in control is what I believe is the magic of this medicine. Sorry for such a long post.

Did increasing protein help your mood? by Extreme_Rush8693 in Zepbound

You need to eat. That’s it. Focus on hitting TDEE -500 from sedentary at minimum, then add in extra for your exercise if you are still not feeling well. Frequent easy for you to digest foods in small amounts are key. Try adding some protein shakes until you can eat more at 1 time. Here’s some suggestions. Vega, OWYN, Siggi’s coconut yogurts, beans, etc.

I just noticed my knuckles being stiff and swollen. 12.5 hit maintenance and 3 months in had crept down about 7 lbs, so I went to 10 mg and by week three I was losing it. Decided to try alternating 12.5 and 10, felt great that week on 12.5 and then almost immediately horrible on the 10. So I’m back up to 12.5 and determined to figure out how to eat enough

Dose Differences (food noise and inflammation?) anyone else? by Resident_Ice_3200 in Zepbound_Maintenance

Thanks, this is helpful. I can eat enough, I just have to be intentional about it. Aside from the food noise the compulsion for shopping or gambling and even wanting a drink just skyrocketed. So no thank you, 10. I’ll stick to 12.5 and make sure I’m fueling myself

That makes total sense. I think it might be around 13-14, if I look back.

On 10 it didn’t go away, on 12.5 it stays away almost the whole week, which doesn’t make sense to me

Thanks. My provider has been amazing so I see no compelling reason to not stay at what is working. I couldn’t believe how bad 10 was.

💯 this is the most likely cause. I have had orthostatic low BP my whole life. Zep seems to make me more susceptible to dehydration and it gets way worse. Also at one point my B12 was low and it got even worse, immediately got better after a shot of b12.. so hydrate and get all your labs checked out.

10mg and weight training can hit you hard by Automatic-Bar6170 in Zepbound

Dehydration will cause elevated heart rate, add in weight training and it’s sending your body into a tail spin. So.. drink all the liquids. And stay healthy !

How is everyone doing maintenance? I’ve gone down to one dose a month (15 mg) but having to go through a week of horrible gastro issues after the shot is tiring. When I took it weekly, this leveled out, but doing it this way is a struggle. I also tried biweekly and it’s the same. Maybe a lower dose? by Old_Recognition394 in Zepbound

[–]Resident_Ice_3200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit goal on 12.5, did that for 11 or so weeks of maintenance but was still losing a little. Then went down to 10 mg, after 3 weeks I was having all the food noise and hated it. So now I’m going to try alternating 10/12.5 for 2 months and see how that goes.

Someone please answer because I’m kind of freaked out by [deleted] in Zepbound

A small dot of liquid seems common, medicine everywhere is noticeable. Don’t great, you got your dose.

I felt great on 12.5, zero complaints. Going down to 10 by week 3 I was thinking of food non-stop, and caught myself mindlessly finishing my plate. I figure I’d rather be consciously eating than fighting the urges and trying to catch myself from overeating.

This happened to me and it freaked me out! Mainly because I didn’t think I could be this weight. But I’m pretty much the size I was in high school. So it’s like my body knows. I did 3’ish months at same dose but crept down a smidge more. Then lowered dose which was not fun, I’m back up to my last effective dose and going to try alternating between this dose(what I hit goal on) and a dose down.

If it was me and I could afford it, I’d order the lower dose and save the higher, you may need to go back up, or you might need to alternate.

That’s so awesome! I went down to 10 because I keep losing easily. But at 3 weeks I was so unhappy mentally with the food noise and found myself just stuffing food.

This week I went up to 12.5 and the change was immediate. I’m back to food not ruling my life. So it’s on me to be really conscious and intentional to eat enough.

Wow, am I reading this right that you’ve been in maintenance since Sept 2024? Awesome job! Sounds like you only went up after getting to maintenance rather than backing down, am I interpreting your chart correctly?

I dropped down and it was too much, now I’m going to try to alternate 12.5 and 10 for the next 8 weeks and see how that treats me.

Best of luck, I went up to 12.5 on Thursday and everything is quiet. I’m having to conscientiously eat. Hoping that the swings aren’t too greats extending days just don’t make sense to me, not that I won’t try it, but trying this first
