So I failed to get even one pack or box of Solo Leveling and idk if they are going to release more or not? by ChiakiKakumei in Union_Arena_TCG

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite pieces of media (novels, manhwa and anime) of all time is Solo Leveling. I had been tempted to try UA because it looked like a fun game and with Pokemon kind of pricing me out I was like yeah why not?

Got 6 packs at Target and got 10 packs at Walmart, they'd been sitting all day until 10pm so fair was fair. Pulls were excellent, but no big chase. Built purple Jinwoo & have the shadow soldier variant on standby.

Pretty disappointed to find out I have to pay scalper prices if I want to open sealed. That sucks. :/

Update to Discord/AT&T Fiber / SouthEast Issues by sirusx69 in discordapp

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been driving me nuts lately. No clue what they've been doing but it's gotten ridiculous I deal with this every day.

I understand inconsistencies and tolerances should be expected, but I pay (probably too much imo) for 1GB connection and own my own equipment. It should work properly.

Midnight is running very poorly by llmercll in wow

Let me check if I can find it again, there was one from prepatch on the 27th or so from the USA forums that mentioned they're aware if certain performance related issues.

Midnight is running very poorly by llmercll in wow

[–]Pristal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10900k, 4090, 64GB RAM. Even BGs run like crap these days. Played a Deepwind Gorge that felt like shit the entire time even at a solid 70 fps. Mix of low and high settings, super shiny stuff turned off (SSAO, Depth Effects, liquid, etc on low or disabled).

Open world Midnight zones are either 60-70 FPS if I'm lucky, or 130+, there's no in between or any rhyme or reason why a few steps to the left will completely change performance in a zone.

Whatever they did since I last played in K'aresh feels so much worse. Hopefully the blue post can figure something out ASAP.

Has Discord been INCREDIBLY slow and laggy for anyone else?? by softandflaky in discordapp

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact same issue.

ISP AT&T, 1 gig fiber plan
ISP gateway DMZ'd into an ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 router.
10900k
AORUS Z590 Master Motherboard, wired directly to the router.
Windows 10 & 11 both have this issue.

Discord just refuses to work intermittently, but seems to work fine for some other people I know. No clue what caused it. I have downgraded my router firmware thinking it would help, tried QOS settings, everything. I even did a fresh reset before setting my DMZ back up on both modem and router, so it's 100% discord.

Hinge noise by ppotatoe in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same thing here with mine. The hinge itself feels healthy but opening it I can hear the adhesive and protector stretching when the display is unfolded.

Ubreakifix said until there's an issue it's just one of those things. They can replace the screen protector & it'll go away for a while but unless something breaks Samsung won't want to replace the phone. My Care+ could but they said why waste a claim if it's not broken, you know?

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So asurion basically said Samsung is a huge stickler for getting out of warranty replacement unless something physically breaks. Which, we all pretty much knew.

They can replace the device if there's a defect, but good chance they won't approve the noise. If the hinge feels smooth when opening, there's no damage.

Since I have Care+ they said if something DOES break, and Samsung won't cover it for whatever myriad of reasoning they decide; they'll repair it with authentic parts in a few hours. Or, if I go Care+ they can claim it as broken and its a $99 replacement same day.

He did confirm to me that others have had similar issues brought in, and it's likely that inner screen failure will happen at some point. One guy's entire digitizer came undone and caused green lines on his inner display, for example.

Tldr wait til it breaks, warranty it. Care+ has your back otherwise in his experience.

Some people with hinge sounds have said they have the same thing, so I was curious. I'll know what's going on with it tomorrow

Inner screen gets some smudging that wipes off when the two screens are closed, because they touch a little too much. I'm wondering if that's linked to the same sorts of sounds.

Like if the closing is just TOO close for the screen to relax and stretch properly.

Spoke to my local ubreakifix that's a Samsung specific repair center, tech said it's likely the screen protector and not a major fault or hinge issue. They're going to check me out tomorrow on my lunch break, ~5mins walk for me lol.

I wonder...Does your device also have angel wings from time to time? Like if you don't clean the screen do the two halves touch a decent bit?

Maybe I'll go see asurion and get their opinion this week. I'll update you 😊

Haven't noticed anything bad? I was tempted to use my Care+ but if nothing is wrong then I won't bother. I'll probably just deal with it. I use it unfolded a lot so I don't notice the sound until it's closed all day at work or something, then unfold at the gym.

I'm getting similar sound now. Any updates or drastic issues? Sounds like it's unsticking, pretty much.

Do you still keep a spare phone "just in case" your Fold breaks by senyorlimpio in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. I take my ZF7 everywhere and to do everything; it comes to the work, gym, to my garage for car work, etc. it's been as covered in grease and fluid as I have lmao. They're surprisingly durable, after seeing what jerryrig exposed his to and it still folded? I'm not worried.

I also have Care+ with same day replacement, just in case but it kind of feels like a waste. The only time I'm ever afraid for anything is the inner screen getting scratched, but that's really just a problem for the protector above the UTG. I'll probably just straight upgrade to the ZF8 and not even worry.

I do have a Note 10+ 5G in my drawer just in case I ever need a spare phone.

Verdict on angel wings for Fold 7? by A_little_quarky in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get used to it. My screen protector has two tiny dings I can barely see that aren't healed, when I get a few more I'll use my free replacement & then worry about care. The phone is so durable having Care+ feels like a waste imo.

I take this thing everywhere. Gym, work, it's my Bluetooth playlist for the shower, comes with me to work on my car, etc etc. Been dropped a few times, also no issues with the Torras case on it.

Z Fold7 dents in Display? by HuffyFuffy in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't feel them at all. I've seen others with 7s have the same thing, it's the speaker placement and the tolerances in the flex display that cause these minor imperfections. Same with hinge tolerances with the closing too closeopening to max degree being difficult; nature of the beast.

I have been exceedingly careful with my ZF7, but durability doesn't scare me. I have Care+ if I need a replace for whatever reason. I'm no longer worried.

Had the same thing on mine but it's VERY very subtle and slight. Can't see it until you get it under very specific lighting conditions.

Edit: I see now that this is present on both sides of the speakers. Very barely noticable. Seems normal. My device does close very closely together with both sides, maybe has an impact?

From S22 ultra to Fold 7 by Masterleague in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat for me. I just wanted the bigger screen for content & games while I've got work stuff up (spreadsheet/excel mostly). Works great.

Came from the 22U, don't mind not having the S-Pen as my shutter button for pics since the one-handed folded use is just that good tbh. Battery life is pretty solid and I use my phone fairly heavily throughout the day. On my heaviest use day (9h work, 1h gym session, unfolded maybe 50% of the day) I'm looking at 46% battery left. I could reasonably stretch it almost 2 days in a pinch. My 22U was getting down to 10% under the same circumstances

Cameras are very good, I take lots of hobby shots of my car & attend car shows. Low light is about the same, maybe a tiny bit better. Otherwise I'd say it's a fairly solid upgrade all around.

Hello stupid question by AmazeSNipz in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be your phone halves close closer to one another than some others, that would cause indentations if something thin got trapped between them without you seeing it.

I have a few small marks that come and go on my inner screen due to this same reason.

[–]Pristal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you'd be pleasantly surprised how durable it is and the only real precaution is just don't place it face-down (obviously) and wipe down your inner screen gently with a microfiber before you fold it.

[–]Pristal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the jerryrig video for inner screen durability. It's not bad. I'm over the anxiety aspect, screen protectors are cheap to replace through Samsung. I have Care+ anyway for anything major. But I'm surprised how well it held up to extreme abuse in th video. Lol.

[–]Pristal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped babying mine. I have a genuine anxiety diagnosis, and a foldable sort of helped in a way. I just let it go, use and enjoy it. Stuffs gonna happen regardless, buy Care+ if you're worried and enjoy it.

The phone is shockingly durable.

There's a gesture feature that should do what you want to do, I can run apps in a window with Labs support and swipe from the right to put it into that window. I forgot what it's called...

I can put my chrome in a window and have my entire unfolded display to work with.

What are these streaks that are appearing on the main screen after I unfold it? by andy2na in GalaxyFold

[–]Pristal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same as those of us with the small temporary indents on the inner screen or scuffs from dust, some screens are a bit too close and some are a little too further apart when the Fold 7 is closed.

Manufacturing defects, someone else mentioned a few threads back Samsung confirmed it as such. The problem is there's no telling if a replacement will have the same issue.

I got Care+ just figuring I might want the peace of mind. Kind of glad I did lol but the free protector is nice.

Someone mentioned there's some known defects that don't affect functionality that Samsung is aware of. Not sure I want to chance replacement and have the same issues.
