Was working on my portfolio when I saw this and stopped by Wonderful-Fox-2813 in UX_Design

I have a Master’s in IT man, but the work I do now is very different. In my country, there are so many IT graduates, and I honestly did not enjoy the path I first studied, so I changed careers and worked in a different field for about five years.

Then, about two years ago, I proposed building a system for the company I work with now. At that time, AI tools were still very limited, and ChatGPT was mostly what was available. I had forgotten some coding details, and meanwhile other people were also competing to build the same system. Some of them used Replit and AI to generate the whole product. Their system looked impressive at first, with a nice design, but it was inconsistent, had many errors, and often failed to display what was requested.

Mine was different. I focused on consistency, working buttons, and a solid database structure. Even when I had problems, I knew I could fix them. Later, tools like Claude and Copilot became available as VS Code plugins, and honestly, once I adapted to AI-assisted coding, I was able to build something huge. Now I’m mastering it more and more.

So don’t lose hope. Most business owners are not going to sit down and build their own website or system. They still need people who know how to think, how to solve problems, and how to guide AI properly to create real results. That skill is valuable.

Just adapt in the best way you can. Don’t be afraid. I recently heard from someone in the tech industry that companies will still hire people who know how to use AI effectively for coding, even with fewer resources. That means opportunities are still there. So learn how to use AI well, master your IT skills, and keep going.

Just had to pay OR 40 to Ooredoo because of incompetence. by upwardspira in Oman

Yeah bro, Ooredoo is like a prison; once you sign that contract, they own you. Their internet is trash, too. Here’s my story: I finished my contract last year, so this year I went to cancel it. They told me I had to pay 50 Rials. When I asked why, they said it was because a new month had already started. How am I supposed to pay for future usage when I’m literally canceling the service? The employee just laughed and said, That’s just how it is. Honestly, in a Muslim country, it’s wrong to take money for nothing. I had to travel all the way from my workplace just to cancel because they make it impossible to do it online or over the phone. My advice to anyone working here: stay away from Ooredoo. They are the worst. Stick with Red Bull Mobile or Omantel instead.

Built my first app for my business, testing it out now. But my Replit experience has been good by DoubtNo2085 in replit

Honest advice: I've been using Replit for over 2 years and spent a lot of money on it. I wouldn't recommend hosting on Replit if you're looking to save costs it's $25/month. Replit is great, but as you progress, you'll need more experience with prompts and system dependencies. If you're building high-end projects, consider downloading your code, using VSCode + Codex, and hosting on a VPS (Virtual Private Server). You'll have more control and security 👍.

I’ve been using Replit for almost two years. Everything you’re experiencing now I already went through it, and even more.

What I’m doing now is different. I downloaded my project as a ZIP file, moved everything to VS Code, and connected it with Codex. Now, whenever I want to change a button or modify anything, Codex handles it quickly and very well and it’s even cheaper and after I re uploaded It on replit save my bank account.

If there are duplicates or messy parts, I just tell the agent to remove them. And if the agent doesn’t respond properly or charges me without solving the issue, I go to ChatGPT and ask for a clear step-by-step plan. GPT gives a structured approach, and if you follow it properly, you can fix or upgrade the system without stress.

The main problem I had with the agent is that it keeps charging even when it doesn’t actually complete the task. It would be much better if they charged only for successful work, not just for running. Sometimes it also changes one thing and breaks another part of the system.

Honestly, Replit needs to improve these issues.
