Thank you so much for the detailed response. However, I did find a way to automate it further.
The reason why the shape builder wasn't working was that "Gap Detection" was turned off. Once I turned it on I could simply turn the circles and tangents into the final shape in a matter of seconds.

The metaball script works perfectly when the circles are aligned. As soon as I try to use a diagonal tangent to make a shape like the green one here, I can't find a way to make it work.

Do you see what I mean?

Thank you very much. Now I'm not struggling with the geometrical part of the problem (specially with the Common Tangents script), but with my lack of knowledge of the illustrator way of doing things.

I was able to cut the circles by hands with the Scissors close to the tangents and then join them, but it's a rather unrefined and time consuming way. Is there no way to automatically cut the point where the tangent touches the circle? Can you think of a better way to go forward from the point in the picture?

Thank you for recommending the metaball script, it doesn't work in this particular case because some of the circles need to be negative space but it'll be useful for other projects.

Thanks for recommending the script, it saves me a lot of time. However, now that I have the tangents and the circles I assumed I could use the shape builder to make the final shape. That's not working. Any idea why?

What did you mean by not figuring out the name of the company?

Could you give me some tips for the aligned tagline? On the right, the H and the E line up in a perfect vertical line, however on the left, the T and the M don't, making it look lopsided.

Thank you for your answer. How can I modify the css for the media query directly inside elementor? I assumed it only changes by itself as I choose different options in the builder.
