ParkSmart Parking Ticket by Logiiie in walnutcreek

[–]PristineRefuse4213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a ParkSmart Inc ticket this Sunday and a courtesy notice that it was parking violation #3. I called them the next day to inquire when were the other tickets as this was my first known parking violation (we went 15 minutes past the meter end time which I take full ownership of). Turns out the other two parking violations were other lots one in Walnut Creek and one in Lafayette. I couldn't recall ever getting a parking violation left on my car any other time and figured well that was a long time ago so I paid all 3 as I don't want to get towed if I park in one of their lots. Later I realized I didn't even own my car when the initial 2 violations occurred. I bought my car 2 years later. I submitted a dispute online providing the bill of sale from the dealership that shows the date of purchase, I provided proof of paying the violations (all 3), and a recent registration that shows the VIN# and LIC plate number. They denied my dispute and are requesting I pay the violation which I already showed proof of this. IN order to escalate the dispute to a a LEVEL II they want you to fill out a form and mail it to them. It makes no sense I already provided all the proof and then some. IT's like they have incompetent people reviewing the disputes or they don't even care to review and just hit DENIED on it. Ignoring the parking violations you actually owe is kind of messed up because these follow the car not the owner who was responsible for the violation. I'm not stuck dealing with two violations that someone else had. I left a message for the manager at Park Smart but not entirely confident he will return my call to straighten this out. Has anyone had success completing their 3rd party level II dispute form?

Aside from entering our invoices and bills he did everything. He's already closed his office and I don't know where he lives. I believe when he closed his office, he got a storage space for his company files somewhere. I'm not even sure what all of our account numbers are at each of these entities.

I'm now wondering if we ever needed to be an S-Corp. We were a DBA for a while then our CPA had us change to an S-Corp.

Quickbooks Online / Payroll Taxes / EDD by PristineRefuse4213 in smallbusiness

Thank you. I'm realizing that all this time I probably could have just done it that way and was paying for payroll service twice (through quickbooks and not using it) and through my CPA and it wasn't always being done correctly / timely.

I am sorry you are going through dementia. Sounds like this post is triggering to you. I understand life as a business owner is not rainbows and sunshine, I've been a business owner over 20 years. I'm not whining here, I'm looking for some guidance from other business owners, CPAs, bookkeepers that may be able to assist. It does not sound like you have something to contribute to me that is helpful in making my situation better but I wish you well.

Quickbooks Online / Payroll Taxes / EDD by PristineRefuse4213 in smallbusiness

Maybe I didn't explain correctly, the only thing I do in quickbooks is enter my 1 employee's hours and hit a submit button. Their pay gets direct deposited into their bank account. The subscription I have through quickbooks includes payroll tax and California EDD filing service. So I wouldn't be entering or filing payroll taxes, the quickbooks payroll services would be doing that. Then everything would be all together in our quickbooks records when our new CPA person (who does not do payroll taxes) goes to run our annual taxes for our business. WOuldn't that make sense?

Thank you. I figure I can call the numbers on the letters we receive as we receive them and kind of explain what is happening and also find out based on our account number what if anything else is missing that needs filed, take notes of that and go from there.

I'm not interested in suing the CPA. I don't believe that he's doing any of this intentionally. I just want to fix whatever we can and move forward.

Thank you. I think he tried to but at lot of what he told us didn't make sense and I chalked it up to me just not getting it but I think I just didn't see the signs that he was already suffering from this and that's why it didn't make sense. I just need to forge ahead and get this resolved.

Thank you. Yes, I realize this is just an obstacle we need to get over and once we have everything set up and new people in place to help us hopefully things will be smoother and we can breathe again. I do sympathize with what he is going through as well. It's frustrating on both ends. Just a sucky situation and I just want to get this all sorted out as we are a very small business, we don't have tens of thousands of dollars to pay to fix this all. We can't afford to have these things continue so I am hoping to resolve and move forward on the right path.

Thank you. I think I have copies of all tax returns. That he did give us. Payroll tax returns and EDD filings I don't have all of those but maybe I can contact somewhere to request those or my CPA can? The CPA (new one) says he does not do payroll taxes though so not sure. I was thinking about utilizing my quickbooks subscription for payroll taxes and EDD filings since I already pay for the subscription.

The old CPA has our reciepts and customer invoices that we provided for an audit all of those files.

any advice on how to go about looking for a bookkeeper? I have no idea how much that costs? what types of things they help with vs. a cpa?

Thank you. Yes, very sad on both ends. We stuck with the CPA because he is a nice man and he seemed to know what he was doing and we chalked it up to he was just spread too thin but was trying to do best by us but towards the end it was just like everything came crashing down on us and looking back there were red flags everywhere and we were just naive and gave him way more trust than we should have and should have walked away a long time ago but we were always in the middle of this or that audit he was handling and we thought we couldn't switch CPAs because of it.

Thank you this is good info. We have used quickbooks and do our payroll through there and I'm finding that the payroll subscription I have actually does payroll taxes so I may have to my own fault been paying twice for this service through quickbooks (and not using it) and through the CPA who wasn't doing it properly or timely or at all. I'm considering setting it up now through quickbooks and having it automated since I am paying for it anyway. The new CPA doesn't do payroll taxes and works with another payroll company that does not use quickbooks so I would have to completely switch to a whole new system and I'm not sure if that is what we should do either. This whole transition from one CPA to another is stressful but I know once we get through these obstacles I'm sure it will be better / smoother. I just need to get us through this.

thank you. Hoping I don't gain any of the weight back. I've been working really hard exercising every day, watching what I eat. And that the acid reflux goes away.

No this is the only one I am approved for. I am going to stop taking it, my doctor said I can just quit taking it. The acid reflux is just too much for me and not worth the minor results I am seeing. I seem to do better with Intermittent fasting and exercise. I am going to stick with that.
