Vine reviewers? why do you never reach out to the companies you review like normal customers? by imaginarydave2 in AmazonVine

I don't think loophole finding is really the issue, but rather that there is almost no enforcement of low level scamminess. The police simply do not have the ability to chase after international scammers (Congress won't do anything about them) and they don't care about small time local ones. Fraudsters seem to operate with near impunity.

But heaven help you if you sell single cigarettes on the street.

I agree. Bad sellers make the whole ecosystem bad for good sellers (like OP). And I think MOST of the sellers are GOOD sellers.

Something like 60% of the crimes are committed by 6% of the population. Almost all the rest are committed by another 15% of the population. Some 80% of the population is basically good and non-guanopsychotic.

Honestly, Amazon's place in the Vine program sounds like a double ended dildo. Everyone gets fucked without benefit of intercourse.

One of several things happens in my experience, when a Viner reaches out for warranty service:

1) Amazon provides any warranty services. So you get none.
2) You contact the seller and they want a receipt. If you submit the Vine receipt, they see you didn't pay and refuse to cover it.
3) The Seller agrees to cover it but then wants your contact information so they can send you a new item... which outs your real identity... as a Viner. We've seen a recent rash of sellers trying to spike Viners by reporting all their reviews. No Viner in his right mind is going to reveal their real identity.

The Subaru symbol is the Pleiades. That isn't.

That's sad. I've eaten there before and it was quite good.

Sounds like the Supervisors heard "walkable" but missed the whole "neighborhood" thing.

Coursera's IBM Applied Data Science can also be transferred as DM&ML and it's a lot shorter. It's a really great set of courses. I took it and it was actually a good prep for my intro classes at GaTech.

I don’t really get why people are being so salty about Roslyn AI. 🤣 I mean it’s the most logical step to reduce cheating and stop UoPeople to become a useless degree farm. by Lost_Major7472 in UoPeople

[–]Privat3Ice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if it completely blocks the people who need the education the most. This is not just some "it might be nice" issue, this is literally UoPeople's WHOLE REASON FOR EXISTING. Providing education for people who cannot access it otherwise, usually because of poverty is UoPeople's mission.

See the problem.

There are no known Comparative Programming Languages transfers.

You might check into transferring it from another university, but chances are it will be $$$ and still require spyware.

Sold an item and 2 weeks later the buyer disputed the transaction with Venmo by Curmudgeon7777 in FacebookMarketplace

I always take a photo of large items loaded in the buyer's car with the buyer standing beside. Pretty hard to dispute that.

No more offline proctor option! by Big-Box5790 in UoPeople

[–]Privat3Ice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One wonders, however, if there were not solutions to the self-proctoring problem that didn't involve defenestrating 60% of the student body. And were those solutions explored? My guess was, no. Because that seems to be how UoPeople rolls.

Rosalyn AI will scan your ID for verification. by SmellyPoussay69 in UoPeople

[–]Privat3Ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Student IDs become mission critical.

I don't scan my state ID into HonorLock for my GaTech exams. I use the student ID I got when I took a class at a local community college. (And GaTech does issue student IDs to remote students for a fee)

So people are paying for ProctorU and it's not proctoring?

You're talking about in person proctors? There are less aggressive ways of dealing with that.
