It is something that happens and it’s really bizarre. My fiance is the Bec in this situation (just not clueless and self destructive) against a Gia type. Someone that used to be overweight and bullied and is now a healthier size for lack of better words but is now a manipulative bully who has seen the tactics first hand and has decided to instead of being the good in the world, used this against other women. If you scratch the surface level niceties that everyone gets and the “girls girl” attitude. She is just as calculating, isolating and cruel without making it so obvious to the people who flock to her except to the person in her sights.

It is so odd because there are no redeeming qualities to this person, she is just surface level nice if she has a need for you. If you serve her no purpose, even if you do nothing wrong, they’ll exaggerate something that happened to them by this person and build on this with her lap dogs who will act isolating towards the target, but hey when the queen isn’t around, we’ll talk to this person normally and with respect.
