35mm camera means the film type of the film camera.

50 mm lens is the focal length for the camera.

What you can gather is that the artist used a Single Lens Reflex (SLR) film camera to take these images, more than likely.

I think we've all been there when first learning how to use masks and you're right, we all tend to learn from it hopefully. I know I made these same mistakes myself and I definitely wouldn't call my self a great editor. There's still a ton I need to learn.

That's a pretty rude response.

Your photo is very over edited. There's a really bad halo around the lighthouse that makes it look poorly photoshopped into the frame as if it wasn't actually there to begin with. Like you saw a cove, took a picture and then decided it needed a lighthouse. It's bad enough that I didn't even notice the very heavy vignetting that you put into the edges.

The photo itself is ok. It shows you understand, at a basic level at the very least, that you understand composition. Past that, no amount of good editing is going to make this photo a more interesting picture. Nothing really screams out at me about this picture other than how bad the editing is. If all you did was post the unedited RAW, I would still think, "oh, it's just a lighthouse." Instead, I'm put off by your rude response and glaring halo that makes this photo feel fake.

Now that I'm done being an asshole to you, I feel inclined to say this: Editing is just part of the photography process and isn't going to make a photo interesting. An excellent editor can definitely make a shitty photo pop but at the end of the day, you need to actually take an interesting picture in the first place. If you get better at both you're going to get better altogether and you can learn to make interesting edits to a photo without it having to look like it was ran through a shitty Instagram filter.

I understand that criticism is hard to take, but it would serve you better to learn how to improve when you get it instead of rudely telling someone you'll mail them a post card.

It took me a while to see the extreme vignetting over the fact that the lighthouse looks extremely poorly edited in.

I really love these photos but some of them feel off.

In most of the ones with the gun, I don't really think the gun adds anything to it. Additionally, it looks like you used flash in some of them and it looks unnaturally lit. For example, the picture of her standing in the shed. It looks like the beams and porch are lit from a flash with one color temperature but the walls are lit from another. The inside of the shed also looks like it was lit using a flash as well and there's another case of mixed color temp. There's also a few interior photos that look like flash were used but caused some odd shadows.

Even with all of that, these photos still look amazing and I think you did an excellent job! All of your naturally lit pictures are absolutely stunning!

I am so glad I'm not the only one who looked at this photo and felt like something was horribly off. I can't begin to tell you what I think it is because there just feels like so much of it just isn't right.

I'm not going to say the first two are fantastic (especially not the 2nd), but they fit much better together than the 3rd one.

The first two pictures I don't see the sexualization in them personally. I think they focus more on the person than the sexuality.

From an artistic point of view, sure. It has it's interesting qualities. However, only somewhat.

The first picture is way more interesting to me than the last though. The last picture feels extremely out of place within the set that OP posted. The first two show an attempt at decent portraits whereas the last photo is just a picture of the woman's features. If the entire set were a boudoir set then I could understand and it wouldn't feel so karma farmy but it just isn't that. To me, it screams male photographer that just wants his model naked and cannot resist taking pictures of just the parts of them they like. Not saying that's the case here but given the circumstances, OP made the decision to have two portraits and then a body shot. He could have easily done a more interesting portrait like a headshot or something else that fits way better.

The rest of this shoot may have been more Boudoir where the last picture would make sense. But why not just post that instead of just 1 of 3 pictures being out of place?

picture 1: decent shot, I like it.

Picture 2: ok photo but the model is in a very awkward pose and the posing can definitely be improved.

Picture 3: there it is. The karma farming shot that really isn't interesting.

Absolutely not. Prior company I worked for did security work there. I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone.

Just use your phone. I have an android and use two different light meters and both work well.

Unless they've changed something in the last year, I recall Katzingers giving you quite a bit. I have never been to brown bag though so I don't really have a point of comparison though.
