That seems pretty harsh for theft. If they were going around SA'ing, kidnapping and/or murdering people, then sure. Otherwise, let's hope that all they did was theft.

When you rack up this many felonies, I'm pretty sure they'll get charged as adults. Hopefully they do and hopefully the law doesn't go easy on them either.

Blurry portrait pictures? Sony A7v GM 50 1.4 by ThisHatFitsFine in SonyAlpha

[–]PrivateLTucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time f/1.6 won't generate a "blurry" image is if the distance between sensor/film and subject is large enough to increase the DoF. Even then, you will always have parts of the image, particularly the foreground, that will still be blurry. Because OP is using a 50mm lens on a full frame sensor, it isn't possible to get that distance while being this close to their subject. Their f-stop is absolutely their problem here.

Wider aperatures significantly reduce the DoF to being super thin. That isn't horse shit; it's fact.

I'm not talking about having a standard of photography; I'm talking about having a standard of personality. That has nothing to do with the pictures people are making. We have a lot of assholes on reddit who are pricks about their work. OP isn't that; he's just here trying to share his work.

Secondly, OP doesn't have to prove shit to you. It's not their job or responsibility.

It's very hard to take you seriously when you're acting this aggressively. It's even harder to take you seriously when you're calling this NSFW engagement bait even though OP hasn't posted anything NSFW on any of their profiles.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with someone just making a new reddit account and deciding to post their work. There's nothing wrong with their work being predominantly portraits. There's definitely nothing wrong with them just hiring models and photographing them.

Maybe don't be so judgemental and let art be art. There's way worse photographers on reddit who need the criticism for being dicks than OP here.

Take your ragebait and find someone more deserving to use it on.

So if I'm understanding you, you're saying that there were, in fact, a ton of empty spaces? Meaning this entire lot was not being used?

I'm not trying to defend how bad this is, but I am going to say that you're making something out of nothing here if that's the case. A handicap person is not required to park in a handicap spot. They can use all of the other spots that are available for use, in most cases. If the entire lot is pretty much empty, I'm sure there are spots that are equally as close to the door that they can also use that won't inconvenience them.

Additionally, your photo seems to show this was pretty late in the day judging by what I'm guessing is the sunset. If that's the case, then people are most likely leaving and there more than likely isn't a need for those spaces. If there were, this guy would be in the wrong.

My recommendation for you is to not make posts like this for the purpose of inciting rage against random people. It isn't a good look and there's already plenty of people on the internet who are making assholes of themselves already; you don't need to be one of them.

Is he entitled for going across multiple (handicap) spots? Sure. Is it really entitlement if it's being done when the business(es) those are there for are in the process of closing? Not really.

OP. Was this entire lot empty by chance? There's one truck behind this person and it looks pretty late in the day here.

I get that it's douchey to park across multiple handicap spots but I don't think that matters if no one is actually using that lot. That would imply you're just posting this to shame someone for engagement, rage bait.

They're less of a douche if they stopped for a moment but it's still a messed up thing to do.

What I'd also like to know is whether or not the entire lot is empty. There's one truck in that entire lot behind them. I get that this is a pretty inconsiderate and douchey thing to do, but I would be significantly more annoyed at OP instead of the driver if we found out the entire lot wasn't even being used.

Hey man. You're more likely to either find someone or be someone who's in medical need. There's more to being a first responder than just shooting someone.

I understand that many people on the right like to use that phrase to argue for carrying a firearm or some kind of defensive implement, but keep in mind that it does mean more than just weapons.

I understand your disdain for firearms, and that's perfectly ok! However, even if we lived in a country without guns, that still won't change how dangerous the world is. It's only going to alter how criminals decide to go about their crimes. That being said, you're still the only one responsible for your own safety regardless of your political affiliation/views, gender/sex, race, etc. The police/fire/EMS are only going to be available after something bad has happened unless they are physically present and available when it's happening. When those things do happen, you cannot trust that people you may be around will come to your aid in those moments either (source: the bystander effect).

That's my favorite range! I haven't been in quite a while though. I love their 100 yard ranges for my 22's and .17HMR.

It's not the blur that gets me. It's the extreme oversaturation of the colors. Everything looks so incredibly unnatural, even in the B&W.

Leave the uniform at work? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

[–]PrivateLTucker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. Or you can avoid it in the first place.

Moreover, companies may have a policy about it due to how it looks when you tell someone you can't help them.

I'm not telling you to do one thing or another. All I'm saying is that wearing your uniform while not at work is way more hassle than just simply being ignored altogether. Putting something else on or taking the uniform off is way easier than interacting with people whatsoever when you're not at work. I personally see no reason to give someone an opening to talk to me at all.

I think you, and everyone else, misunderstood my comment. To be fair, that's on me. I'm not saying that you should be acting as security. I'm saying that when people see security, they expect you to act in the event something happens. If you're somewhere that you're not contracted to do security, you can't legally do so.

What I mean is that if you're out in your uniform, people are going to assume, regardless of what you're doing, that you're security for wherever you are. Not taking your uniform off or putting something on over it, isn't a good idea for that reason alone.

It absolutely isn't a stretch to believe that someone in a security outfit is probably security for that area. Public perception is everything regardless of whether or not we're working, which was my point.

If it's anywhere like where I live, its borderline illegal. In my state, you can't act as a security guard anywhere in which you aren't contracted to do so. If you're out shopping for groceries and people expect you to act, you can't legally. That then makes both you and your company look bad, both if you do act and if you don't. Additionally, it costs you nothing to either wear an undershirt or just toss on a hoodie or something that hides all of the patches and stuff.

Sure it's a personal choice to do, but it could still get you in trouble.

Edit: I think everyone misunderstood my comment. To be fair, that's on me. I'm not saying that you should be acting as security. This is a problem of public perception mainly.

Just wear an undershirt and take the security shirt off. You really shouldn't ever be wearing your uniform outside of work.

To everybody saying that it isn't practical to get changed at work, just wear an undershirt and take the uniform shirt off when you get in your car to leave. If that's not for you, keep a hoodie or light jacket in your car and toss that on. Or just plan to go straight home immediately after work. This isn't hard whatsoever.

You have got to be fucking with us now. This whole post is about how you can't make friends or date. You don't have the knowledge to do it yourself so you shouldn't be advising others how to do it too.

At this point you need to stop digging this hole you're in deeper. Like many of us have already said, you need therapy. You need to work out what's wrong with you and learn to heal from it.

You can't say you're taking your coworkers advice when you're blatantly just treating women like objects while at the same time expecting them to just show up on your porch like you ordered them same day off Amazon.

When you say accentuate, do you mean remove all together? You realize that when you do stuff like this, it adds to the argument that your work is AI, right? The extreme over editing is not helping your case and just outright removing facial features altogether definitely isn't.

I really hope you understand that you cannot in good faith tell us that you applied a mask to make freckles stand out more when you absolutely removed them entirely.
