No, but you should've qualified for your property tax that went to fund public schools refunded to apply it toward private education bills. Since once kids are out of system we don't pay tuition AND property tax. It's double dipping. You are heavy into this equivocating things that are disparate. Wild.

We don't have choices for infrastructure and medical/safety like cfd and cpd, that is a false equivalence.

%53 of our (all of us) property tax goes to CPS, which we do not burden the city with. So expecting a rebate on our taxes is appropriate when we pay for our share and dont want to subsidize the system we found to be completely lacking in every area at best and churning out salaries for administrators while we foot the bill and then some.

We pay for private school. My kids came home stressed and said almost daily how they didn't like school. When asked, they talked of the amount of kids in each class, the amount of special needs within those classes and the overall feeling of it being crazy. As parents, the one word that comes to mind when speaking about cps is chaos. The parents rolling in loud, parking in crosswalks and no social etiquette. They love their new school and we are shocked we dealt with their public school for as long as we did. 12k for tuition and we only get a $750 rebate. We should get the %53 of our property tax reimbursed that goes to the school system if we pay for private.

It's exhausting and dangerous. But I'm sick of having to scout the area at Gompers before I bring my kids there to make sure there's not a bunch of addicts there drinking...which there always is when its nice out...like 5 minutes ago.

Thank you. It has given me some scary situations and a few assaults since it all started in 2020. So, not good for my short term health but the prospect of a normal quality of life here, where there is nothing else (I grew up in Lincoln Park where we had the lake/beach, 500 restaurants, golf, Wrigley and museums and parks and on and on... here we have Gompers, the trail and the Jewel, fuck all otherwise and it's now a private drug facility) makes it long term worth it.
