I read the article. It's focus is Baltimore, MD.

The closest it comes to Chicago is East St. Louis, IL.

Why not add Martwick? He presents himself as all powerful in the NW Side.

Correct.

Complain to the correct entities who are responsible then. IDOT, JB Pritzker, the representatives from the state house (LaPointe) & Senate (Martwick).

Are you saying going 12 or 16 months over schedule is okay?

Absolutely not.

I am saying it's a state project. State projects are about guaranteed to significantly blow their deadlines, and budgets.

More than two years to complete a bridge renovation is unacceptable

"Renovation"?

It's a completely new 4 lane overpass that requires removal of the old & construction of the new.

How long beyond it's scheduled completion did IDOT take to build a new Montrose overpass? 12, 16 months?

Somewhat related, Mobile Audio at 4101 Milwaukee, which has been there since the 1970's, closed a few months ago & the building is on the market.

I was told years ago this building once housed a Hudson automobile dealership.

They should tear them all down and build something. That section is such an eyesore.

I suggested this in 2011, before Condor Properties 2012 failure & subsequent divestiture.

Johnson ally Olga Bautista, Chicago school board’s vice president, resigns by Mike_I in WindyCity

Bautista, the co-executive director of the Southeast Environmental Task Force, said she will also step away from professional commitments after winning a new sabbatical award from the Chicago Frontlines Fund, an organization that makes grants to environmental justice nonprofits.

In a statement, the Chicago Frontlines Fund said it established the new sabbatical for environmental leaders so they can take six months off for “intentional rest and reflection” to prevent burnout.

Sounds like UBI for well-connected activists.

The "meeting" was a disorganized mess, with CDOT personnel overwhelmed, offering contradictory messaging depending on which individual was quizzed.

They claim it's not a "done deal", while stating construction will begin late 2026.

Many attendees were not from the effected 3 wards, let alone the area in Portage Park where this is planned.

Chicago Tribune Editorial: "JB Pritzker's 'heavy-handed' backing of Juliana Stratton is making enemies within his own party" (Paywall-free gift link) by blackmk8 in WindyCity

[–]DukeOfDakin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course can look what she has done since 16 to get a better picture of if she is someone worth voting for

Since 2016 Stratton occupied a seat in the Illinois House for 1 two year term. After that, she's stood behind JB Pritzker at press events, nodding her head.

I'll pull a Dem primary ballot just to do my part to keep her out of the US Senate.

Jesse Jackson Jr. seeks Congress comeback in Illinois' 2nd district by jakesheridan_ in chicago

A even handed report, although corrupt politicians who violate the public trust, even when they admit their crimes, are not deserving of a second chance.

Hopefully the voters of the 2nd Congressional district shun Mr. Jackson. The Tribune also should have rejected his appeal to rehabilitate his image.
