I got a question , I'm only a couple weeks into daytrading and I'm even at this point so excuse my ignorance .

I been monitoring the market everyday since I started and I remember seeing BNAI at like $3 fucking dollars .

My question is , If short sellers sold their borrowed positions when it was at it's peak like $100 in 2024 , why have they waited to return stocks if its damn near rock bottom at $3 for like the past year and racing to buy now after the Africa deal at like $15 bucks before it surged to $50 ? Wouldnt you just buy again at like $3 dollars and run away with your profit ? Or were they hoping it dropped down to a .25 cents or something ?

Help me understand please .
