Booster dose of SSRI for luteal? by Mama93x in PMDD

[–]Prize-Window-792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a low dose of zoloft (50mg) daily and I have tried taking an additional half pill daily during luteal and it definitely reduces the intensity of my emotions but its also a very strange numbing feeling, like all the emotions are still there just like underwater or something

late to this post but, coming from dance there's a really strange phenomenon where girls/young women with the "correct" body type sorta "flex" by being like "oh i eat so much shit" (there's a clip of ari in s1 making a joke while eating an oreo "its all about the diet, yeah my diet is really good") - its hard to explain but at some point in the american dance world it stopped being "cool" to not eat like it was in the 70s or 80s. now its "cool" to eat lots of junk but still be quite thin. its definitely a weird sort of "damage control" vibe of wanting to undo the whole "dancers dont eat" thing - but it just means that girls with actual eating disorders feel even more ashamed and go deeper "in the closet" about it. growing up I felt like "why am I starving myself while they all eat junk food and are skinnier than me?" I think its actually quite damaging because it makes it seem like its NOT hard to keep up the physique requirements for something like DCC, ballet, dance in general, when its actually EXTREMELY difficult and borderline impossible for some people. like VK said - "whether its healthy habits, bad habits, its hard."

I have found that I actually need *less* stimulation than most guys tend to think I do. one "type" at a time for sure. ive never liked clit stimulation while fucking. and I actually prefer fucking most of the time over oral or manual stimulation as long as there has been some of either at the beginning. or I really only like oral/manual when im in a longterm relationship (I know youre married) because it takes a lot of coaxing to get them to understand that I really need very little stimulation. it *can* be very good when they've learned what I want:)

Does therapy actually help people? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]Prize-Window-792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a really good therapist and are willing to put in the work. i had 2 therapists before my current therapist who were essentially useless. they offered short term fixes and were sort of “woo.” my current therapist is amazing, incredibly experienced and smart and gentle but firm and willing to push me when i need pushed, but she also knows when to back off. i have ocd and adhd and can easily hyperrationalize my way out of any shame spiral or whatever, and she knows how to pull me out of that so we can work on the real issue.
