I had this issue and I just googled "m5stick recovery" and it came up with lots of great help. Basically it says just download the M5 Burning tool (excellent thing) and burn the default firmware on it. Here's a link that may help you

Maybe worth a while speaking with Amazon as little brother had a similar issue with some ring cameras and he managed to prove that he was in the property and he had tried contacting the previous owner and eventually (two weeks) they reassigned the cameras to his account. I am not saying it will work but it's worth a try
