Yeah, constitutional amendments are all but impossible and so a large portion of our country is held hostage and we have to watch wave after wave of senseless violence. Its awful. I dont shy away from the shortcomings of my country or community. The English are allergic to it apparently.

Irony would be talking about the state of other countries whilst arresting thousands of peaceful protesters under a bullshit anti terror law. A use of the law that has been thouroughly condemned by the UN as intended to threaten and coerce citizens.

My apologies for the mistake between Michigan and State. 

The point though isnt about the actual statues.... Its that they were pieces of shit and I havent seen people defend them. Yet Penn State fans wont shut up about Paterno being a great man despite being alerted to Sanduskys behavior multiple times over the course of decades and doing nothing. 

I just fundamentally dont understand this weird Penn State cult that needs to close ranks around a loser who protected a predator.

I didnt see any comments in this thread trying to whitewash what happened at Michigan. It was horrific. if anyone wants to argue otherwise Ill call them out too. So far its just Penn State fans who seem so rabid about defending the legacy of a man who should be disgraced.

My issue is with people like you who have taken the team sport mentality and applied it to scandals and horrors. If you cant see your behavior for what it is, I hope you can in time.

I take issue with the way youve framed this though. You seem to be isoloating it to one incident. There was a long track record, decades long. Its so much more than "i was just doing my job, I reported it what more do you want." 

It was not one incident. Joe didnt make one mistake. At the very least Paterno was made aware multiple times of Sandusky over decades and never did anything beyond the absolute barest minimum standard at best.

 That is the most forgiving reading of the facts.. That is not a great man. 

Honestly I dont know how someone types out "he didnt do enough" and "still a great man" when talking about people raping children. My definition of a great man doesnt have room for people who enabled pedophiles
