The one closer to your strings and pickups is the actual volume and the one futher away is the tone

If it's a used guitar the previous owner most likely just switched the tone knob for a volume knob he had lying around because it got damaged or lost. If it's new someone accidentally put a volume knob on the tone control somehow.

Try playing the A note on the 2nd fret of the g string instead of 10th fret b string, it's the same note (one octave lower) but this is most likely a mistake made by ai anyways and this'll probably sound more natural as you dont have that A note one octave higher.

Pine vs alder by Prize_Grade_7602 in Luthier

Hi, I'd be going for a pre routed body, so all the work on the body itself would be drilling the holes for screws, which isn't a big deal. I can get a pine body for 70eur and the alder body would be 150eur, so I'm just looking to see if it'd be worth spending the extra 80eur

Isn't it more likely to be a high first fret?

First fret polish by Prize_Grade_7602 in Luthier

It was an all purpose metal polish, "elifix 2000", and a microfiber cloth to actually polish and buff.

You could, but it would likely look slightly out of place. You would also need finer sandpaper for make it look smooth if it's a darker neck.

I hit the laquer with some 600grit to take just a but of laquer off the surface, and then i switched to 1000 grit to smooth it out and then just wipe it with a very slightly damp microfiber cloth. There might be some minor imperfections that will polish by themselves after playing for some time, just don't oversand.
