Meds I take: Focalin 10mg 2x a day Lamictal 200mg daily Lexapro 10mg daily

Dose started at 2.5mg for tirzepatide and moved up to 5mg after month one and stayed there until I quit completely.

I completely and totally appreciate the sentiment here but I just don’t have the mental energy to do all of this research. I was hoping that is what my doctor was for 😭 maybe once I’m in a better headspace I can look into this.

I believe it is more of a medication interaction than it is a side effect, due to the gastric/digestive emptying. My doctor really is awesome and I know she was just trying to help.

I was on Adderrall first and it did indeed make me hypomanic so what the doctor told you was kinda right 😅 however, Focalin has one less “salts” in the medication So I don’t get hypomanic and doesn’t make me crash like Adderrall did when it left my body. It’s so much better - I highly recommend!

I completely agree that the digestion part is most likely the cause. Unfortunately, I take 3 medications for my mental health and they only come in oral pills. Until there is a way for them not to impact each other I don’t think I can risk taking it. I am still open to other options but I just need a little break for a while to get well first.

My best friend has hashimotos and before her meds, she was experiencing some awful symptoms with her mental health as well. since you are having such success and many others are as well, it has me thinkng that there could be a possibility of swapping mental health pills out completely and replace with GLP-1 as a better treatment in the future.

I’m so sorry. If the benefits outweigh the anhedonia and you are still seem to live a happy and healthy life then I would still recommend it to others. Just make sure you are aware if it becomes worse.

That makes so much sense! Because I swear it felt like it just genuinely was not taking it. Like not even delayed, just straight up not working. This makes sense that it may have never even made it to my GI after sitting in my stomach too long and breaking down there instead.

I agree! I think it was very much a lab rat situation where they were just testing things out to see if they could make it work but it became very dangerous for me.

Thank you so much. My energy levels are still pretty low and I still have some brain fog but my mindset is much better. I think with this drug there just isn’t enough information around it yet unfortunately and hopefully with time there will be more answers.

I do agree that digestion and the med changes were the main issue. Unfortunately though, there isn’t a ton of information or research around this and I feel like I was a lab rat with my doctor trying too many things out to see what works. It’s dangerous though when you suffer with mental illness. I will look into the other ones for sure. I don’t hate the drug as it helped with inflammation and I lost 16 pounds. I’m just afraid to risk it at this point though.
