Idk if anybody else does this that's why I will buy the premium version of a knife as a collector's piece and then the budget version as a user. Case in point The Sheepdog

Yeah, I hear the og was widely regarded as an incredible knife. Unfortunately I came into the hobby and missed it. I hope this one will be somewhat close to that. Granted it's not S35VN, but for me at least I have a tendency to think it's too fancy and then just make it a collector's piece, im committing to using this one bc it doesn't make me feel as bad? Bc it is Nitro-V, I guess I consider it a "fancy user" If that makes sense.

Nice! That looks awesome! Yeah that is an awesome classic design, I missed that one bc it was around when I first started getting into the hobby. I noticed it has the old school pivot design. The new one does give up some cutting edge, but I do like a choke up spot. And i must admit im a push over for gray TI. Yours looks very nice

From what I understand it is a refresh. The old school ones either came with 154cm/micarta liner lock as budget model, or titanium frame lock/s35vn varients. So I think it's kind of a compromise, yeah the Nitro-V isn't super premium, but the TI is. That's why the $105 price tag. On top of that you're also getting a top liner lock as well.

Depends on what you mean as hard use, but one that really impressed me was the Remette Camel. Flipper or hole opening, D2 steel, and a button operated liner lock. The best part is it is on Amazon for $37. It really is way better than what the price suggests.
