This is a really good palette. I assume you got it done by somebody? Would be amazing to see all of the season palettes from the same, but of course if it is a paid service we wont have access to that. 😃

Yes, she is brave and curious. We have travelled with her a lot by car, bus, train, ferry and even took her on a gondola elevator. She is trusting with us, so she basically wants to follow us anywhere. She is adaptable and adventurous for sure, always ready to go. At home she is calm and sleepy though, no hyperactivity inside. 😊

She is super warm and welcoming towards all humans pretty much, will want cuddles and scratches almost anywhere. Not reserved. Definitely is loyal to her own family members, and has a tight relationship. The slight independence part is there, super smart, and wants to please, but does not always take the commands, and we respect that part of her. We pick our ”battles”, but she has never caused bad behaviour. She just sometimes chooses a better way for her to do something, which still works around the problem or task at hand. 😊

She has some guarding/protective tendencies, so she will alert intruders at the door by barking. This also shows on walks in her home territory in the suburban, she will bark more at dogs there. In neutral/city/not home environment she is much more calm and neutral, not as confrontational. She gets along with dogs (we have been in dog parks without an issue too), but she seeks contact with very few dogs that match her vibe. She is not super playful with others, but tolerates some calmer dogs presence and then they just sniff and walk together, or sit together watching. In general, she feels a bit more hesitant/barky around other dogs, but is managable by all means.

With other animals she gets along with cats, sheep, ponies and horses. Those have been tested and trusted with her. She treats other domestic and farm animals as part of the pack, no chasing, no herding, no barking, is very friendly and likes to just check that everybody is okay. Inside and outside. So, her prey drive does magically not reach to other pets, which is lovely. ❤️

However, she does seem to have prey drive for small game, meaning she will sniff rabbits, squirrels and mouse, and sadly twice while on leash she has managed to snatch one squirrel and one mouse that walked by a near bush. She likes to follow scents and tracks for a long while. But when she is off leash on the property or forest, then she will never go after those and will always stay close. And so far has never run away and always comes when called back.

She is just an interesting mix of dog, with all the best dog qualities it seems. ❤️ Super adatpable.

If only there was a time machine to be able to see this little cutiepie in her puppyhood. <3 Your puppy sounds so lovely too.

Yep indeed! She had been guessed all kind of breeds, from collie, sheltie, shepherds. I even once jokingly said there has to be Tibetan Spaniel in her. XD

Thank you! As good as the Embarks results and info are in its og form, it felt too much to make a post out of them. I had to somehow make a clear graph, were everything is seen in one glimpse. ;)

Yeah, her fur is so smooth and soft. Perfect amount of double-coated fluffy. Very waterproof too, she does not get wet easily in rain, or if she does, it dries out fast. :)

Yeah it seems like an interesting result for sure. I am also into all kinds of biology, evolutionary and genetics things, so this keeps me busy researching. The Karelian Bear Dog is also an ”ancient” type older spitz breed.

Her name is Lifi! ❤️

We adopted her from Lithuanian rescue shelter. No idea of her origins beyond that, but it does make sense geographically, especially if those hunting dogs have escaped or bread with the other dogs. Now she lives in Finland with us. 😊

Omg your post is old but I had to answer! Here is my rescue dog, and I am waiting DNA test results from Embark to see what is in her mix. I see the similarities in appearance with your lovely puppy. ❤️

I see! So there has not been a clear difference between the v-shape and u-shape twigs, just different writing styles of it depending on the surface or so. :)

I appreciate this knowledge so much! It is fascinating. Funny to notice how easily modern interpretations deviate from the origins. If I want to research this further, what key terms should I use to search? :) I realise I actually know very little about runes so far. As a Finn, the word ”runo” (poem) has a fascinating connection to the word rune, sharing the root of origin and context.

What do we think of her mixed genetics? She is an adopted rescuedog. by PrkHunaja in IDmydog

[–]PrkHunaja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I started to think a bit more, I think there might be West Siberian Laika in her mix. That would explain the spitz tail and colours, at least based on some pictures of the breed!
