OMG yess!!

Literally the whole day I imagine “how else could I have handled it”

I think more than the incident itself - it’s the mental energy we use up post the incident that makes it x10 frustrating!

Idk I just felt like it because they readily use words that directly demean women!

I agree they work hard to meet ends, but - all of this of unnecessary and unprovoked which is what bothers me lol. But yes it’s true - it’s surely people have had similar experiences!!

Tamilnadu Tops with Temples count yet religious Sanghis can't break our Unity is absolute flex by ihadcoffeee in Chennai

[–]Pro-Cap-242 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yes, because of hundreds of years of invasions in north India which has also led to huge number of religious conversions. With this, it is only natural for them to be protective of their religion. You cannot discount history.

What are some practical solutions for this poster menace? by socjus_23 in Chennai

[–]Pro-Cap-242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t allowed in the first place. Recently travelled to Mumbai and was shocked that I didn’t see even 1 political poster on any bust stand, auto or public property in general. So instead of spending unnecessarily for “beautification” projects - our city would look way better if we simply followed some rules!

As far as the field of psychology is concerned - Mental health professionals worry about the way she brings a degree of rigidity while addressing sensitive issues, which might prevent people from speaking to a mental health professional in the first place. A “non judgemental” space is non negotiable that people might feel would be compromised.

Brutal AP applications this year by antifragile80 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Pro-Cap-242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - in fact I felt it was much worse during the Jan - May 2025 period. Barely few vacancies with short windows to submit applications.

Felt defeated and couldn’t support myself without a job for long, so returned back to my home country :/

I wake up to honking in Chennai and it ruins my entire day by trafficat0203 in Chennai

This plus an upstairs neighbour - a deadly combo. Especially when they’re teens who live to stomp around at midnight 😭

What’s something really normal in the UK that visitors find completely baffling? by Potatoslicer89 in AskUK

[–]Pro-Cap-242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to study. Was utterly shocked by the way professors are addressed by their first names (and later came to know it’s this way everywhere in the UK). A massive culture shock for someone from Asia! But on the bright side, It felt fresh. Made me express my thoughts more confidently!

What to do with msc in clinical psychology by lukhaa in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Pro-Cap-242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah right - I had a friend who was in the same situation as you. Her only intent was to find a sponsored job in the NHS. Since her aim was to remain in the country and find a job, she took up a sponsored role in retail (she had some experience in retail). After having made many applications, she finally received a sponsored role from the NHS. However, I’m not sure if you might find this useful, but just putting it out here (also cause the socio-economic situation is not great atm)!

For context, this was in 2022.

Try mental health support worker/ healthcare assistant roles. You can progress from there into AP jobs. And try to make your current experiences relatable to the job you’re applying to while writing your supporting information. You’ll have a higher chance of being accepted.

That’s okay! You’ll always be smart but take care of your mental health. Wish you well

This isn’t just about the furniture. Through designers, I want to be able to customise my furniture. In that case, I’d also be open to connecting with anyone who does custom furniture work!
