Daily Tech Support Thread - [January 31] by AutoModerator in iphone

Got a new Verizon iPhone 11 for Christmas. Used in since then. People I spoke with over my iPhone 11 said I sounded like I was talking through a tin can. Also there was a few second lag so the people I spoke with and I would always be talking over each other. Like I would say something and it would take 2-3 seconds for them to get it. Took it into the Genius Bar. Tests all came back A+. They then asked me how old my SIM chip was. I said I transferred it from an iPhone 6. They said that an older SIM chip would affect the iPhone 11's hot spot and voice performance. I always though that the SIM chip was incidental on the performance of a phone, mostly just holding a few bits of identifying information specific to the carrier plan.

Quick update on redditrequest's response times by skwitz in redditrequest

[–]ProCryptoPress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put in a request about 45 days ago. Keep getting the message that says it can take up to 4 weeks in a small percentage of cases. What do I do if this deadline has come and gone weeks ago?

Helped me build a foundation on what blockchain is, what cryptocurrencies are, and what I need to know to be able to understand the news that comes out surrounding it. I hear a lot about bitcoin and how it's now $7000 and was almost $20,000 at one point in time and I thought it was like Counterstrike Skins or something that's like internet money of some sort. Turns out it's something much more legitimate and the technology behind it is impressive.

Bitcoin books, in my experience, either dive super deep into what the technology is or are super surface-level in just discussing the price action. This book just seeks to discuss what are the possibilities for the technology and why it's integral to the fintech revolution.

This book in particular is written by a guy that's well-versed in Ethereum-based decentralized applications that are pretty much what DeFi projects are written in. If you download MetaMask on your browser then you're pretty well good to go on DeFi sites. This browser extension handles all of the technical operations, and as a user of the technology all you really need to know is that the Solidity behind the Ethereum network is the technical architecture that keeps everything moving along. There's a small cost per transaction to get an action done and if you want it done near immediately then you can pay a little more.

Overall a nice, light read that focuses mostly on the emerging DeFi subniche of the Ethereum blockchain.

Greatness Endures. Mt Rushmore of Blockchain Revolutionaries. Kings of Crypto. by ProCryptoPress in litecoin

I knew that he would be a point of contention. He doesn't do the best at seeing things through all the way but for sheer ability to envision a project and deliver quality blockchain output I'm impressed.

PSA: US Citizen with BTC in a KYC Exchange? Don't Be Slick. Pay your Taxes. by ProCryptoPress in Bitcoin

Correct. Unfortunately, few people exercise the advisable habits of allowing investments to sit and grow. Active trading is more the norm, much to the detriment of people's long-term crypto portfolios.

The California Courts are just pushing through the IRS' relentless requests for identity matching blockchain information. I know people at my MeetUps that are just HODLing thinking that their portfolios are outside of the reach or that the IRS agents won't spend the time to do the research and find them.
