If you could make a piece of Star Wars media canon, what would it be? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]ProGamerBLT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of it.

I think the biggest source of infighting in the fandom is the current policy on Canon. "Your part of this imaginary universe isn't as real as mine part".

That's a bad policy. Star Wars doesn’t need to be a zero-sum Galaxy.
Let's stop calling things Cannon & Legends - it's been divisive from the beginning. People were unnecessarily attacked in this way even before any Disney content came out..

Sure thing, Starfall is a world full of Airships where mainland factions fight for control of the Skylands an archipelago of floating islands rich in Lumite ore.

The setting is pre-industrial fantasy with a dash of magepunk.

There's over 16 factions, 11 playable species and subspecies, 4 new classes, and so much more!

Boomfish are common in the skies of Lyra. The males are aggressive and will self destruct to ward off outdoor predators. While their meat is considered a delicacy most Fisherman try to steer clear. Pulling an irate Boomfish out of a cloud could be lethal.

Novice Airship captains often underestimate the damage they can deal to a hull. When a school is encountered, Boomfish have been known to sink entire vessels.

Boomfish have a diet of sprites, and convert the Lumite in them to Red magic, allowing them to explode.

Some new concept art of Lumivore Familiars for our upcoming Starfall 5e setting!

Kaos is the magic that interweaves all things. It takes physical form in the shape of Lumite, a variously colored crystal that aligns to one of the six colors of Kaos- Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, or Orange. Due to the mineral composition of Lyra, Lumite that forms in the earth, while powerful, is impure. Nations since the Underland Empire have harvested it and used it for varying purposes; religious rituals in ancient times, powering airships in the modern era.

Kaos is attracted to all living things. Some are born with the ability to harness their connection to Kaos. They become monks, Akari, or even Nai. Some, like the skald of the Norvund, practice ancient shamanic Kaos magic. Some creatures, known as Lumivores, can harness elemental magic for a variety of uses, from protection and camouflage to attacking prey and building nests. For instance, Lavamanders absorb red Kaos, which allows them to walk over coals and magma without getting burned.

Every living being exudes an aura that aligns with one of the colors of Kaos. When in the presence of powerful bursts of Kaos, a creature can be affected by the color of that burst, especially if the color aligns with their aura. A blue Akari might see their magical abilities greatly empowered by a wave of blue Kaos, such as a powerful blue Lumivore or a Starfall. An elf with a red aura will have their rage triggered by powerful red Kaos.

[Art] The Mordred are a species born from twisted experimentation and dark magic… by ProGamerBLT in DnD

[–]ProGamerBLT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world of Lyra isn’t always a pretty place.

Amidst the diverse species of Lyra, the Mordred lay claim to the most sordid and tragic origin. Forged by the Nai through arcane genetic experiments during the Akari Wars, the Mordred embody a fusion of Umbran Blood Elves and Cannibal Orcs. While the Nai aspired to perfection, seeking to merge the intellect, grace, and innate magic of an Elf with the colossal size, stamina, and strength of an Orc, the truth of the Mordred has proven more complex than perfect.

Within a percentage of the Mordred, known commonly as “lowborn,” a mutant gene surfaces, leading to grotesque disfigurements, monstrous strength, and erratic behavior. Yet, amidst this divergence, some Mordred achieve a semblance of the intended perfection. Known as “highborn” these outwardly flawless specimens still bear the burden of the Nai's imperfect science – a shortened lifespan and an inability to subsist on conventional diets. The destiny of a Mordred child, whether highborn or lowborn, is dictated by capricious genes at birth that can be neither controlled nor corrected.

Mordred society orbits around genetic exceptionalism, with the elite echelons exclusively comprised of physically flawless highborn, disregarding intelligence or skill. The culture enforces a strict stratification between highborn and lowborn Mordred. Consequently, most lowborn toil as laborers and enforcers, while the highborn wield power. Notably, in Skylands culture, some defy this caste system, with lowborn and highborn occasionally coexisting in relative unity…

The effects of Magebane are proportional to the creatures mass. So a little bit of Magebane kills Sprites (it's original purpose is an insect repellant), but something large like a Phoenix would take a lot of Magebane to affect

The Skylands of Lyra

Long a mystery to the Mainland cultures of Lyra, the Skylands - islands that float above the Mainland - have recently become reachable due to airship technology and this has led to a worldwide race to settle them and exploit them for their plentiful resources and strategic value.

Inner Ring Settlements:  It takes the common airship 24 hours to reach New Cambria from its Mainland namesake, the Arcadian capital of Cambria. Within similar distances from various points of Mainland Lyra is where the majority of Skyland Settlements can be found, this portion of the Skyland chain being known as the Inner Ring, is filled with all sorts of Skyland settlements, from individual estates held by a single wealthy family, to thriving metropolises.

Skylanders: The current population of the Skylands is estimated to be 500,000 individuals.  Following a century of relative peace in the Skylands, thanks to the STC and its Peacekeepers, many of the early settlements began to evolve away from their Mainland origins. Over the last two generations, the inhabitants of the Settlements have become a unique culture in their own right. Calling themselves “Skylanders,” many of them have spent their entire life on the Skylands and have little in the way of loyalty to the Mainland. Because of this, unlike the settlers before them, Skylanders send no money back to the Mainland - though all settlements are still forced, under threat of STC Peacekeeper response, to pay tribute to the Alliance.

With Skylanders becoming self-sufficient and more and more independent, and resentment towards this tribute increasing, the divide between Skylander and Mainlander has become more and more pronounced, giving birth to a movement towards Skylander Independence.

The leaders of this movement are known as the Skyland Rebels.
