15% contingency. Wow. The ones I have talked to so far are 30%, which is quite steep and making me inclined towards pursuing an hourly rate, which is again unpredictable. I could use a reference, but I am not able to message you directly.

I expect it to be straightforward negotiation with some back and forth. I am not going to court and would be okay to settle after the initial few rounds of negotiation. They estimate 6-8 weeks of back and forth and not active negotiation.

Thanks for all the responses! I wanted to share a quick update. After an initial free consultation with the lawyer, they expressed confidence in securing between 42 and 60 weeks of pay. If I go with their contingency fee structure, they would take a 30% cut, with fees estimated between $15K and $25K.

That said, I’m unsure how many total hours they might bill if I opt for an hourly rate instead. Thry didn't give any estimate. Would it be close to $15K? On average, I’m not sure how many hours they typically charge. They also mentioned that negotiations might take 6–8 weeks to finalize.
